I cannot imagine being a gay man seeking justice in the courtrooms of California, at least not if these people have their way.

My question would be if the matter before the court dealt with gay issues would these judges be required to recuse themselves? I would think any judge that campaigned on the basis of their religious beliefs would be in danger of seeming biased.

If they were at the Superior Court level then the next level up would be the Supreme Court of the state. I can well imagine the higher court would take a dim view of constantly reviewing such cases, not to mention the cost to the state.

This is the problem with elected judges.
