(I'd better get in before someone beats me to it).

As our resident Druid is on holiday i get to announce the Solstice! (finally).

On 21 June at 17:16hrs GMT, somewhere over SE Mexico the sun will be equidistant between the poles and it then begins the journey back to where it belongs - South.

Yes! We're going back to Summer and it's all downhill for you lot.

cheers

Temperatures above normal, rainfall non-existant, drought conditions...ahh well, summer is here.

I had a nice class about the Solstice with my adult disabled class. They had a difficult time wrapping their minds around the concept of opposite seasons between the northern and southern hemispheres. One lady asked why are they so weird? I had to laugh and tell her that we're the weird ones to Aussies and New Zealanders.
