An acquaintance told me last night how he had always been worried about the size, lengthwise, of his penis. He thinks this worry goes back to his childhood. He has worried about it to such an extent that he has been visited by the melty man

Though the video is a comedy the ailment is real. He was reduced to being scared of what girls would think of his naked penis to such an extent that he was unable to perform sexually. He said clearly that no girl had ever said anything disparaging about his equipment. He has measured and is, with precision, the average length for his ethnicity. He happens to be heterosexual.

I wondered what your thoughts are, both about your own size, about what you think others (will) think about your penis, and about what others have said about it.

It's almost totally average. It's never been ridiculed or complimented. The 'boys' below it have been complimented a few times. I've experienced a variety of sizes and shapes, and there is a 'too big'. I don't have a preference, though I prefer smaller if I receive, and really large are harder to handle orally as well. So, size does matter, in a way.
I can understand a guy being so worried about his size that he has troubles and a visit from the melty man.
Experienced that. He really thought he was too small to be interesting. Small, yes, but very interesting. And once he forgot about that worry, or got past it, whatever, he was a lot of fun. I didn't know why he was so reluctant at first, not until we had gone out for a while and got down to it finally. He'd said I would probably be disappointed by it. It wasn't a disappointment at all.

I've never really worried about it. As a friend once told me, anything more than a handful/mouthful is wasted!

What does drive me crazy is the number of porn writers who insist on their characters all having 8" schwanzstuckers. Especially the 12-year-old characters. I almost invariably stop reading right then.

There are plenty of studies on line that define the average length of adult male penises. Normally, the erect penis averages around 14-15 cm (5-6 inches), and the flaccid runs 9-10 cm (3-3.5 inches).

So next time you're reading somebody's tale, or getting ready for a night's entertainment, go boldly forth. You're better than some people would like you to believe.

My wife told me today (again, probably the tenth or fifteen time) that she is glad I'm not any bigger than I am. (Measuring on the top, I am 7½ [19 cm] inches long when REALLY excited.  I used to be closer to 8 inches [20.3 cm], but gained weight and lost some length.)  My girth hasn't decreased-- it is still 5.9 inches [15 cm] around right behind the head, and a bit over 6.1 inches [15.5 cm] on the ridge at the back of the head.
There have been a couple of times when I have been the top in a same sex experience where I've had to stop because the receptive partner thought I was too thick, but rarely.

For every gentleman above average there is one below. I'm quite pleased with my five and a half inches. Despite unpleasant surgery to it it still works, kind of.

I agree, working is the most important aspect, at least, the most important I can think of.

Sorry - can't resist. A certain gent in England emailed recently -

"Of course I won't laugh," said the Nurse to the patient,

"I'm a professional. In over twenty years I've never laughed at a patient."

"Okay then," said Bob, and he proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing the Smallest adult male organ the Nurse had ever seen in her life.. In Length and width it was almost identical to a AAA battery.

Unable to control herself, the Nurse tried to stop a giggle, but it just came Out.

And then she started laughing at the fact that she was laughing.

Feeling very badly that she had laughed at the man's private part, she composed herself as Well as she could. "I am so sorry," she said, "I don't know what came Over me. On my honour as a Nurse and a lady, I promise that it won't
Happen again. Now, tell me, what seems to be the problem?"

"It's swollen," Bob replied. She ran out of the room.

I showed that to a nurse & she said the same thing has happened to her - she did manage not to laugh tho'.

They do come in all shapes & sizes, but mostly 5 to 6 inches seems to be normal.

cheers

Stumbled across this somewhat old thread, but would just like to throw in the old saying about how the size doesn't matter - it's what you do with it that counts!

Ha!, the source of many a boy's insecurity, one of the problems is when one looks at one's own weapon, it is a view distorted by perspective, it just looks smaller from above than from almost any other perspective (try a full length mirror, that will give you a better perspective).  I have never measured my penis, but I think it is about average.

At age 13-14, I was at school with a boy who was the youngest in our year (he was born in October but was in the year above his normal age band) and quite small with it as a boy.  In his first year, there was nothing noticeable about his penis (I was not interested in him so did not give much notice to him), but towards the end of the second year when he was 14.7months, he was preparing for an army cadet corps exercise which would invariably involve falling in the canal near the school so along with his friends, he decided to change into his swimming gear, when he took down his underwear, I nearly fainted (as did several other boys).  This averagely small boy was very well endowed in both length and girth terms.  So the size of a boy is no guide to his weapon size.

Just to complete the myth, he claimed to have lost his virginity to an older girl when he was 13, I have no reason not to believe him!

I know what you mean.  Looking down on one's penis, the optical illusion known as the "foreshortening effect" comes into play, where looking down on a penis, especially a non-erect penis, causes it to look shorter than when seen from a side view.  In my freshman year of high school, my penis was average size, but I had a grown spurt over the summer between my freshman and sophomore years and came back with a penis that hung down 4½ to 5 inches when not erect.  Plus, my girth was slightly larger than most of the guys in my class.  The teasing came when my Physical Education (PE) teacher made a comment during weight lifting exercises that I reminded him of a stud horse.

I didn't see that I was longer than almost every guy in the showers, because I was looking down on myself.  But I was.  I thought I was being teased, and didn't realize that it was good-natured ribbing and some jealousy of the fact that (soft) I WAS bigger than most of them.  The teasing continued in college, because we had an old dorm with communal showers.  I have learned to live with it, and have no problem with nudity around males.

Further, I decided not to tease guys about their personal sizes, unless I could be sure they would take it the right way, instead of as an insult.

Penis size, length and thickness, and durability, is important.  Durability is time of hard and availability and thrust.  Your ass / ass hole / mouth durability is part of it too. Your interest and your wow is important too.  Medium / Small / Tiny / itty bitty dicks are also active.  Or, are as often enough active, as evidence the eight billion living people.  Gays / Homos like what they like, and it is not always the dick.  But, for many, that is ALL it is.  There is also the ass, the asshole, the face, the mouth, sexual useful body parts, plus any dick.   But also the dick.  Women have their specialties, lesbian and straight..  forget not that..  PENIS SIZE is as if you feel inside tyou his big long thick, notice the difference with any smaller.  Physical real is that.  This itty bit reacts to its hornyness.  Other guys have their things.  This lit thing has its.   Love bigs.  Deal with reality itty bitty.
