I read this when it first appeared elsewhere and it made a deep impression. I have thought of it often and re- read it a couple of times. 

Just my thought, but I would suggest that you do not read the note at the end about the origin of the story until you have given yourself plenty of time to digest the story itself.

I see what you mean, Pedro.  This is a good, though parts are very chilling, story.
