We have had to postpone the publishing of stories, scheduled for earlier today, because of the server migration. While the site is functioning well there is one background element we need our service provider to achieve before announcement emails can go out.

What we will do is to compress this week's payload to ensure we just lose a few days

So, what are you writing right now?

Just published today's set.

Sets 1 & 2: 5 items. ZERO queue length
Sets 3 - 16: 4 items
Set 17: 2 items
Sets 18 - 21: 1 item

Even when the pool of stories is low we never drop the quality. Crap may be found anywhere. We stay at the top end of the food chain.

We seem to be in a good state again:

Sets 1 - 10: 5 items
Set 11: 3 items
Set 12: 2 items
Sets 13 - 15: 1 item

We have a zero length queue.

Who's up for a Halloween tale?

The "May I Help You?" Challenge has one entry so far

Christmas 2016 has one entry, too.

After issuing today's set I notice that things are looking a bit bleak:

Sets 1 - 4: 5 items
Set 5: 3 items
Set 6: 2 items
Sets 7, 8, and 9: 1 item

That is the end of the queue.

We have the next challenge, with three items and a fourth promised. There is one tale for Christmas. No-one has yet thought of Halloween.

Where are all the good writers and good stories?

Set 2: 5 items
Set 3: 4 items
Sets 4 - 6: 3 items
Sets 7 -10: 2 items
Sets 11 - 18: 1 item

"May I help you?" has three entries with one more promised, but time to run

Christmas 2016 has one item.

Ouch. Two years ago, just under, I started to manage the queue tightly. I seem to have been more successful than I intended! We now almost have a negative queue, and, trust me, that is not a benefit!

After today's set, which was only four items itself, this is what we have:

Sets 1 - 3: 3 items
Sets 4 - 7: 2 items
Sets 8 - 15: 1 item

That is not going to get the baby bathed. Unless you know differently, Nifty doesn't have material of the right quality. I may have missed something great, so tell me if I have.

I know of several tales in pipelines, and those cannot be hurried. They will come when they are ready.

The Writing Challenge is doing well. Five tales in and one promised, and we have ten days to go until it closes.

No Halloween tales yet. Sighs.

Christmas has one tale ready to roll

There is a major improvement. Phew!!

Sets 1 - 4: 4 items. Still low, but I am hoping for a serial to arrive over the weekend. Depends on the author.
Sets 5 - 6: 3 items
Sets 7 - 9: 2 items
Sets 9 - 12: 1 item

One Halloween tale, don't leave it spookily alone!

Six May I Help You? entries

One Christmas tale

No Valentine's tales

We seem, for the moment, to be back on track:

Sets 1 - 4: 7 items
Sets 5 - 7: 6 items
Sets 8 - 16: 5 items
Sets 17 - 19: 4 items
Sets 20 - 22: 3 items
Sets 23 - 24: 1 item

Christmas now has two items. I think that may go a couple of days before Christmas Eve this year, by popular request

It's odd how we move between famine and feast. After today's set, just published:

Sets 1 - 13: 7 items. This means we have a queue of just over four weeks. At present I am content with that
Sets 14 - 16: 6 items
Set 17: 5 items
Set 18: 4 items
Sets 19 - 22: 2 items
Sets 22 - 48: 1 item

Close the Lid, has one item so far

Christmas now has three items, with, I hope, more to come.

Things are going well, but our queue is too long

As you know, we are running a short accelerated period. Sets will go out over the weekend with normal service being resumed on Monday. Today's set having been published, the following situation obtains:

Sets 1 - 13: 7 items. This is too long a queue for new material
Set 14: 6 items
Sets 15 - 18: 3 items. This is where the drop off in material is evident, but this area and the prior set together is the place for new material now
Sets 19 - 28: 2 items
Sets 29 - 44: 1 item

Christmas: 3 items so far

Close the Lid: 2 items so far

As we run towards the new year, the queue is in the following state:

Sets 1 - 9: 7 items, which is a three week queue, starting on Monday
Sets 10 - 13: 4 items, space for three pieces of simultaneous new material, which is good
Sets 14 - 21: 3 items
Set 22 - 30: 2 items
Sets 31 - 38: 1 item

Close the Lid has only two entries so far

Christmas stories has 4 tales, and more are always welcome
