He always had such a great sense of humor. I would send him picks of the country side in the states, and seamed to love them. I wish I could send flowers. My hart go's out to his family and friends. I will miss him very much.

We write to be read and offer our take on life, Richie knew that quite well. Perhaps what we do is best stated by Mark Twain:
"I conceive that the right way to write a story for boys is to write so that it will not only interest boys but strongly interest any man who has ever been a boy. That immensely enlarges the audience."]]>chrisjames1472011-09-11T20:31:02-00:00Re: Richie Ryan has died

Summer Heat concluded only two weeks ago, and now there shall be no more. His stories captured the exuberance, fun, and passion of youth. I, and many, many more will miss him.]]>BillyButch2011-09-11T22:24:04-00:00Re: Richie Ryan has died

I only knew Richie through his stories and a few, too few, emails but feel like i've lost a friend. We all have.
His stories will be a fitting memorial and, echoing Chris' words, i hope for more to be posted here.
Goodbye Richie and thanks!]]>kiwi2011-09-11T22:31:37-00:00Re: Richie Ryan has died

Thanks Richie.
I am always saddened when we lose such as talent, but I believe that Richie's contribution along with all the other contributions to our special library help make Richie and all the others into bigger than life influences.]]>Flyboy8282011-09-11T22:47:43-00:00Richie Ryan has died

I would like to take this opportunity to remind the readers of IOMFAtS stories to tell the writers when you enjoy their work. Over the years, several authors whom I admired have passed away before I could express my gratitude for their toils. Don't get into the position of being saddened by your omission or lack of time to express gratitude - you had the time and interest to read. Fortunately, I did write and thank Richie before he died.]]>axelsrod2011-09-12T07:18:09-00:00Re: Richie Ryan has died
