But whatever you do with them, do it quickly -- it would seem odd if you popped up out of the blue after a few weeks' time.

That said, I do think that Timmy's proposed statement could be (if the circumstances were wrong) construed as gloating. You'd need to be very tactful. You would, however, know pretty much from the first second how he felt about it -- if he was bitter, then your chances would probably be lower than if he just didn't care about the job and was going to quit anyway.

Well once again he beat me to the punch. But not to talk to me just to see if his pay check was there. I want to say more but there was co-workers there and a line of people ready to checkout. But some how hearing his voice made me relax a little bit, but the best part is I will get to see Brandon again he has to come in to pickup his check. Now all I have to think about is what to say to Brandon.

So say what you want
(You know I'm wasting all my time)
You've gotta mean it when you say what you want
(You're only safe when you're alone)
And everybody's on your mind
Saying anything to get you by

Thanks -- I wasn't sure if I was helping or just being obtuse. Smile

Or try and have a private conversation when he picks up his paycheck. The important thing, though, is to remember that the longer you leave it, the worse your chances -- he won't know you're thinking of him nearly all the time (and indeed does not need to know that), so if you don't contact him for a few days it will appear that you are less interested in the friendship than you actually are. The more casual it seems, the better. And, obviously, if you leave it too long it will seem odd if you pop up out of the blue one day, once he's already closed that chapter of his life.

In other words -- you have a final chance, but you'll lose it if you leave it too long.
