Yes, this should bring forth a laugh, given the outlandishness of the Featured Speakers!
However, it's also worth noting who is missing: Jerry Falwell Jr., who just had to resign from Liberty University over a sex scandal a three way one, no less, including his wing and a former pool attendant (nothing against pool attendants! LOL!)
This matters to the LGBTQ community because (lest we forget our recent history) it was Falwell's endorsement of Trump over Ted Cruz that brought the Evangelical pantheon into his base, and put him on his way to becoming the candidate. After which, of course, the guy who never went to church and couldn't even correctly say the name of one of Paul's Epistles became the standard bearer of the Evangelical movement and proceeded to actively support the religious culture wars against abortion, LGBTQ rights, same-sex marriage, etc.
To the degree that lying and deception can be considered humorous, it's been difficult to decide just what is the best Trump Laugh of the Week this week--there having been a blizzard of them. In retrospect, I think the best laugh is the treatment Stephen Colbert did of the first night of the RNC.
If you haven't seen it, you owe it to yourself to do so. It promises to go down as a classic and is also a perceptive analysis of the current situation. And, in case it needs to be said, this matters to more than just Americans in the USA. This is turning out to be a classic illustration of how to subvert a democracy and turn it into an autocracy.

Tom Walker, a British comedian, has a character called Jonathan Pie - a roving reporter/presenter. This piece is frighteningly prescient.

Amazing! Made from 100% horse shit!
(hope the pic comes through for everyone - my success at these things hasn't been particularly great)

On a slightly different tack, (and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but as I understand it, your President, unless he's impeached, is above the law whilst he's in office.
If that is the case, little wonder he's desperate for a second term. He's refused to disclose his tax returns as evidence in a court case, and he's refused to give a DNA sample having been accused of no less than twenty counts of rape or other serious sexual molestations. If he's kicked out in November, his immunity comes to an end, and he'll have no other options open to him other than to take the heat...... or will it be too late, with mob rule, armed militia on the streets, and Trump refusing to quit the White House?
The not-so-united States of America will no longer act as one of the world's greatest democracies, it will be turned into a third-world dictatorship, - membership of the same club as North Korea, Russia, China and more African countries you could shake a stick at. ('Together we will make America great again', my ass!)
Oh, yeah. One thing you should never do when visiting the UK is talk religion or politics in a pub. I hope the same doesn't apply on this forum!

Yes, all of this is possible. I learned long ago not to make bets on politics, but if I did, I'd lay ods at about 85% that your latter scenario will be the one that he opts for. Only time will tell if the courts and/or the law enforcementt/military will intervene to remove the orange bully baboon from his perch behind the Resolute Desk.

Andy, we don't really have pubs anymore, and arguing religion or politics in a socially distanced manner lacks the eyeball rolling, teeth gnashing gravitas.
As president, Trump has the power to pardon. Though whether he can pardon himself is up for debate.

Camy - Truly a classic. This is especially poignant and funny after three Trump boat rallies in the US in the past week, all of which involved the idiots swamping and sinking each other's boats!

Oh, that's hilarious! And so damn true! Perfectly illustrates the orange baboon's game plan!
Have you noticed his campaign ads and his speeches that he points to what is going on now and blames it on he future "Biden's Amerrica" when in fact what's going on now is happening in Trump's Amerrica?

Well, that's usually true for many politicians here in America, especially around election time. Anything bad that happens is always somehow the other guy's fault, while the candidate doing the blaming is also somehow responsible for any and all good things that happens.

The trouble is that Trump is so venal, and so thoroughly unpleasant, that there is just too much material to post. And now, as the election gets ever closer, it's not really funny anymore.
I was going to gleefully say that I'm glad to be on the other side of the pond, but as the UK is going to implode on the 1st January, I won't.
Canada sounds good....

I so very much agree with you. Just the thought of the bastard can be depressing. I have avoided social media and even news outlets short of the a couple times a day listening to the top of the hour 5 min news. It's a matter of maintaining my emotional and physical health!
I'm afraid Canada has closed its borders to the United States. I have some fellow America Friends who managed to get in by agreeing to go into a 14 day quaranteen lockdown with random checkins from Canada's border patrol or whatever agency is doing that, and the only reason they were let in is because they have a daughter there with dual citizenship.

I'm torn between being being gleefully suborned by Trump based schadenfreude, and feeling sorry for the old git.

Same, though I seem to fall most often on the side of glee, when I'm not thinking about it. Still, it is pathetic, isn't it? But there are those who seem to believe it's yet one more ploy by the orange baboon. I tend to doubt it greatly but the thought is out there for sure.
Ah, well... "It is what it is," right?
