But, you know, why do all the bloody stories have to end in such a bloody annoying cliff hanger!? Just read "Harry", which was fantastic, but the end.. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Soooo annoying. Anyway, that's enough off my chest...
Oh right, and yeah, this is my first post, I am Dan, and from Bath, England. Woo Hoo.
Also a bit infuriated because January's mobile phone bill was £176.00, and £111.00 of it was to the guy I am totally in love with! AHHHHHHH!!! Too much money! So it seems that if he turns out to be, a) gay and/or b) fancies me as well, it was a good investment. Otherwise, I'll be even more annoyed. Truth (hopefully) will be told be when he comes to my 20th birthday bash on saturday. Can't bloody wait to see him. He is so totally gorgeous... Tim can verify that.
Anyway,
Good to try this Message Board out,
Dan.

Welcome. Sorry I can't help with the cliffhangers or that funny "L" thingy that isn't even on my keyboard. Nice to see a new "face."

Welcome, again. Feel at home here. Good luck with your bloke.
And why, if British keyboards have $$$$ signs, can't American ones have ££££ signs? No need fior anyone to answer that.

Hi Dan! Welcome to the Board...and happy reading...there are more cliff-hangers out there than you can shake a stick at! We writers love to write them and then get feedback like yours...pretty perverse, huh? Hehe
Happy soon-to-be birthday, and good luck with your prospective lad...
Hey! Mihangel...if we get both the LLL thingie and $$$, then I also want equal rights to the symbol for Thai Baht...it's a B with a "/" thru it...

Actually, ignorant American that I am, I somehow always thought that British keyboards would have a "Pound" sign on the same key an "American" keyboard would have a "Dollar" sign (on the "4" key).
But I suppose that would just make too much sense, wouldn't it?
By the way: Welcome, Dan! Happy "two decades"! I hope your birthday ends up being well worth your telephone investment!

Yes, we have $ and 4 on the same key. And £ and 3 on the same key, though I've met one with # and 3 together. Is thast American? Normally # and ~ go together here. As for slashed B, David, not a hope.

DAMN!
Ever since the devaluation of the Baht a few years ago, it's all been downhill.
You should see the English Thai keyboard Man and I share in Thailand. The Thai alphabet has 56 letters, as each sound has a separate letter. Upper and lower case, shift key...cute squiggles, tho.

You could most likely get the Baht sign on any PC with an operating system that supports Unicode (I suppose most recent versions of Windows does). You'd have to hold the Alt key and type in the unicode number for that particular letter. Finding which one it is could be more problematic as the standard allows over 65000 definable characters.
There's probably a list of some sort to be found on the internet somewhere...

.... is it legal currency in Thailand as well as in Yorkshire (where, apparently, it equates to the cost of traditional headgear)? As in -

Cringe, cringe! Sorry, I won't do it again!

You don't think those writers just write for the sex scenes do you? Or that we read them for the sex scenes? Noooo. We read these stories for the content (just like Playboy) so to keep the reader coming back for the next chapter, the writer must whet the appetite and make the reader want more. Shame on you if you read only for the sex scenes.
(Dan, this is just for you. One of the best sex scenes I have ever read is in Chapter Nine of Holding on For Dear Life. I know the author and he lives that scene every day, but don't tell him I said so.)
Hugs, Charlie

We need to learn more about Charlie!

Yes, having "#" on the same key as "3" seems to be an "American" thing; curiously, though, "#" is referred to as both "number sign" and "pound sign". The tilde "~" is the "shift" on an extra key to the left of the "1/!" key, coupled with "accent grave" (`)
Older typewriter keyboards also had a "cents" sign (which looked like a lower-case "c" with a slash through it). As I recall, it was on the "6" key (which on all computer keyboards I've encountered is coupled with the carat "^", which I don't remember ever seeing on old typewriters).

Seriously, though, I'm just riding too many trains and boats and planes to allow time for much posting - but I LOVE the way this board is going, and I'm lurking as much as I can. I'll be back as soon as I have a chance - meanwhile, megahugz to all except David, who ain't got time for such things, 'coz he should be at his keyboard, writing .....
