Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I didn't get this done yesterday, since I was inundated with some panic at work. hehehe.. gotta face that soon. My name is Al, and I'm 19. I'm currently a college student, and also work part time. So in a couple weeks, you might see my involvement suddenly take a nosedive when school starts up again. I'm gay, and have known it for awhile. My parents found out when i was 16, and didn't take it too well. (they're under the suspicion it's cult. Everything wrong is a result of a cult to them) Unfortunately, me and my dad didn't get along from then on, and it was further deepend when my dad passed away not 6 months after the argument. Thankfully they didn't kick me out, but if they told me to,it wasn't the first time. My youth wasn't so pretty of a life, nor happy, and I won't go into it. I'm still recovering slowly from my childhood, and though it's getting better through a couple of my friends, I'm still hurt by some things that happened. Sad I've been reading IOMFATS for some time, but due to the inundation of great stories, I never had the time to search the site, and it was yesterday morning that I discovered this forum. Through the short time I've been here, it's been interesting to say the least, but there was that one discussion, that got somewhat heated. Lets start the new years on a good foot, and keep the disagreements to a low roar. And be gentle with other people's feelings & thoughts. Smile Well I better get off to work before I get buried completely with work! Smile
Cya Later!
Al

*grin* Hey Timmy, Deductive reasoning has told me you're the owner of the site, iomfats.com (of course the fact that the home symbol points to that should register in my thick head. Wink) Thanks for the site, and this forum for people to talk to and feel free to say just about anything (besides the bad stuff. but that's a given.). I've enjoyed your site a lot, especially given the various types of stories written here. There's just so many sites & stories that I keep up with, it's hard to actually try to search through all the sites and appreciate the different things in all of them. I'm thankful I finally dropped in here though, it seems like a nice community. Smile Keep up the work guys! *thumbs up* *grin* I shall make my exit to lunch soon. adios.

Hey Al,

It is great having you aboard. Always nice to see a new smiling face join our little group here.

I will show up from time to time and say hi, but work has had me so busy lately that i drive over 1,200 miles a week on average... leaving me little time to play and chat... nonetheless, I always feel welcome when I come back home to visit for a while. We have a GREAT family here.

So welcome. Welcome to our little corner of the world....

BamBam;-) Wink Wink

Aww Andy, don't feel bad. There was so much going on the day that i came in, of course you probably didn't see me come in. That was also because i didn't create a welcoming post until today. hehehe.Smile thanks to you to BamBam for your welcome. Smile Oh the joys of teenage years. I'm out of my teenage years in 5 months. *sigh*. If only we can reverse time Wink I don't mind the fighting, as long as it doesn't tread on people's feelings or get too harsh. Though there are times where this group has slipped into a deep discussion as shown yesterday, I see that there is a pretty good group going on in here, and hope to see it continue.Smile

Yes, there are geezers on this board too. I know most of your replies have been from the younger side of the group, so I figured maybe one of us old farts should speak up.

Anyway, welcome to the board. You would really be amazed at the cross section represented on this board, though most of us keep our mouths shut until something spills out (like now).

Judging from your responses so far I would say you seem to have done very well at coming to grips with your childhood experiences. Your input will be welcome.

Hugs, Charlie

I've been quiet for a long time now actually, Al (probably longer than most people want me to be hehe), and so when you started posting, you already sounded like a veteran poster. You integrate so well into this board, I can already tell. Many veterans who have posted a long time ago and then go into lurking come back, and I just thought you were one of them. Cool I'm sorry your welcome wasn't as cordial as we'd all liked it to have been. But for what it's worth, welcome Al!! ;-D

And a quick shoutout to all my pals here on the MB! Miss y'all. Hope you're all doing well. Feel better soon, Marc. Smile

Well i've been spending a lot of my time in a yahoo group and through there and some amazing people in there it has helped me tons.I have to say my more open tone about my gayness is almost 100% a result of that group. But I won't say the name to detract from this group. Some people i've gotten close to in that group have really helped me come to terms with it. (and maybe a possible love relationship? we'll see in a couple months. HEHEHE) It's amazing, the yahoo group contains, not only teenage men, but older men, and also gay fathers, mothers, teenage girls. It's a fantastic group. I've like what I see so far though, and hope things remain calm to an extent. Wink adios people!

Ah well i'm used to posting on boards now, that i've begun posting on another yahoo group. A couple months earlier, and you couldn't get me to talk Smile Ah welcome now is no different than welcome earlier, or welcome later. Just talking to people's great. I love the sudden surge of welcomes, but you guys keep putting yourselves down for not welcoming me in the group. What you're doing now is fine enough for me, and no need to worry 'bout what time the welcome comes as long as it does eh? Smile I hope things are great for everyone on this tuesday/wednesday (depending on where you live. Smile) Cya people!

You will find, as I have that some of the best people in this world find a home here. I consider them my family and I would be proud to call you a part of that.

Just like many families, they argue, fight, hold, and love each other. Be who you are, and you will find we will accept that.

As for the arguments, try not to pay to much attention to them. Our family tends to spout off now and then, but we love them anyway.

Again ... welcome,

Kevin
