I was just saying to another out-of-shape friend the other day that my next book might well be called "The Armchair Runner", since that's as far as I get.
But in the new apartment complex I just moved into the other day, there's a very posh fitness center complete with jacuzzi and steam rooms, so maybe I'll be motivated to work out a bit.
Ugh. Middle age is hell...try and avoid it if at all possible!::-) ::-)

Hey Andy !!!
First of all, I miss talking to you !!!!
Second, I run every single day except Sunday (my day off each week from training). I used to run on the streets and sidewalks, but it got very hard on my knees. I now run on a treadmill, but it is running just the same. I run minimum 1/2 hour each day, and sometimes an hour depending on what I want to accomplish. Also, being over 40, I need to stay in shape so everything doesn't start going south too early. I just had my treadmill test done on my heart and the doctor said he hasn't seen a healthier 42 year old man. Not bad, since I have been diabetic for over 30 years.
So keep it up. Take your time to get to your goal, but don't lose sight of your goal if it doesn't seem to come fast enough. You will get there before you know it, and then have to make a new goal !!!!!
Love and Hugs,
BamBam;-)

I just never quite got into running, though I did run when I was in high school as part of my workout to stay in shape for football. But if inspiration is needed, may I use the words of another man who hated running (Leroy "Satchel" Paige) "Don't look back, someone may be gaining on you."
Think good thoughts,

...But I still wish you the best of luck, lil treelover! I would try to focus on the parts of running I enjoy the most, think of how good it feels when the blood's really pumping and the body is working hard yet you're still just flying along almost.
How's the hip by the way? Alright I hope?
Take care!
