The fact that I have both put a paypal button on the site and sent an email telling people I have done so is NOT a demand for contributions nor even a request. It is 100% voluntary and to give the chnace to some people who will remain anonymous who have asked to contribute.

I neither expect contributions nor am I rattling a collecting tin. Pay per view this is not.

I think it is a very good idea. If we bought your book in the bookstore, it would cost something. Why should people not give money if they read on line. I know it is an honour system, but many are very good. I guess you will find out after it is up for a month.

Cheers,

Darren

I am nervous of people feeling obligated.

This is in part why I have set the donation at $5.00 US. A small enough sum not to concern the giver, and one not to need thought. I could have opened up the field to be any value a perosn chose, but THAT seemed to be to be a sort of blackmail.

In truth the site is vanity and the stories are for me more than for anyone else, or that is how they started.

I would hate anyone to think "A dollar an opinion, a dollar a story" etc

If people donate, then the reason they donate should be personal and not for any feeling of obligation.

There, I think I got that right at last.

Sorry, can't help it - not your typing this time, Tim. But some words cry out to be read wrong. Like menswear = men-swear rather than mens-wear. Or penal servitude = penile. So what happens if you press a papal button?
