Oh well, here's a hug for everyone who was too busy to drop in. It'll still be here even if you gotta come by later to pick it up.

Oh, and I guess it's late enough that today will be tomorrow when this is posted. Damn time zones.

Think good thoughts,

Mmmm...! Love a nice hug! Smile

I know what you mean, some days it is pretty quiet here, and being summer and all guess won't help either. Come autumn and the rain/winds associated with it, activity will pick up I'm sure. Wink

And now it's not only dolphins off the coast of England we need to watch out for; there's a horny killer giraffe on the loose too, over in Africa!

It's not safe anywhere these days it seems. Smile

I'm reminded of that old song "Everybody needs somebody sometime." Even Giraffes.
Your song seems fitting, except...  [message #3270 is a reply to message #3269] Tue, 25 June 2002 14:08 Go to previous messageGo to next message

...this particular giraffe left its victim dead from severe head trauma!

The news paper speculated jealousy was involved somehow; apparantly giraffes get quite worked up during mating season or something like that, and maybe it did not appreciate any human presence. Who knows? Smile

Anyway, I feel a little closed-up here. Weather's lovely so I want to go out, but I'm supposed to be sick... That creates a strange conflict of interest which results in me not knowing what the heck to do really... So I just sit here and do nothing and it's boring me half to death. Sad Bleh, I think I'll go out anyway before afternoon turns into evening.

Read the evening paper this morning (thanks of the wonders of the internet, heh!) and saw a small article: 'sex-crazed giraffe jumps to its death'.

The article tells that a 'severely hormone-intoxicated' giraffe suspected of killing an American tourist earlier this week threw itself off a cliff (for whatever reason - maybe its fianceƩ rejected it, who knows), and thusly, died. Its hooves will now be examined to verify if it was indeed the same animal as the one that did the tourist in.

Weird! Smile

A few days ago in Norway, a car was almost hit by a "flying" (as the news paper called it) cow who had slipped off a high cliff above a road. The cow, as they say, bought the farm of course... Yesterday in Austria, a woman WAS hit by a "flying" cow it seems. And today in Sweden, SEVENTEEN cows were killed by a bolt of lightning that struck the tree they were all standing under, seeking shelter from the rain. These weren't flying however, except the electric shock might have jolted them enough to move them a bit before they died. If that's the case the article doesn't say.

So don't trust EVERYTHING a cow tells you, they're not always as smart as they seem! Standing under trees in a rainstorm actually is rather inadvisable. (Wink)

Here in America (and perhaps in other parts of the world) there is an expression that is often used to indicate when a person may do something he'd rather not do, "when pigs fly." Perhaps that day is not so far off as we once thought.

BTW - Do they sell A-1 sauce by the bucket full in Sweden?

A bear, who was being relocated for the upcoming G8 meeting, was shot with a tranquilizing arrow, the Metro newspaper tells me. Unfortunately the arrow struck the bear IN THE HEART, thus killing it! Oops!

Damn, that's a lot of animal news! Smile

And I also saw this week (this is completely unrelated btw, I promise! Smile), that studly hunk Tom Cruise is TURNING FIFTY!

WHOAH! When the hell did that happen?!? I remember him in Top Gun, and he was like...WOW. Smile And there's been rumors going around he's gay. Damn, I should have known him back then. Wink

Botox seems to do a good job with him though, he's very well preserved, heh!

He was born 7/03/1962. He about to turn 40. As far as the gay rumors go, who knows? But he's always vehemently denied them.
