good day my newly found friends.
i check in here everyday on my lunch break....and once in awhile during work also (dont tell my boss....oops i am the boss...lol). oh well i have come to look forword to comming here and checking things out, it so totally awesome to know that there are folks like me out in this wacko word.

today is by far the nicest day weather wise we have had in upstate NY all summer. i am not a fan of hot humid weather at all and today it is sunny clear and only 72 degrees and i am so loving it. personaly my fav season is winter, it is so peaceful and clean in the winter and the cold dont bother me in the least. another thing about winter is the fact that i can be out side by my self and no one bugs me, guess that makes me a bit of a loner, oh well i am happiest by my self.

so whats ya'lls fav season?
ok off to check emails and play some cards on da puter.

have an awesome day and be kind to your selfs

later

Well, my fav season around here is definitely not summer. Here in my little corner of the Mojave Desert it has been 100+ for more than a week. 109 today, 110 yesterday, and 109 on Monday. Way too hot. I can usually tolerate anything up to about 105. We've had way too many fires, too. Monday and Tuesday there were different fires each day that closed the freeway between here and LA. They threatened to burn several homes, but I don't think any were destroyed.

I like it best here in the winter. Temps in the 60 and 70s during the day, but drops into the 10s and 20s at night. We get snow a couple times a year and it rains some too. I like to look at the snow-covered mountains behind my house. Then in the spring the desert comes into bloom. It's really neat when the hillsides are orange from the California poppies, instead of the fires.

Think good thoughts,
e

Hey, the kids and I spent Thursday night last week in Indio on our way back home. It was only 107. But I was more worried about coming home to a flooded out house (which luckily did not happen). Yes, I live in San Antonio.

BTW, e, The Mariners game we went to was versus the A's, so I had to sit there silent the whole game (A's lost, boo hoo).

Being in south Texas, my favorite season has to be the couple months between the first cold front of the fall and the spring thaw (around here that is usually around 100).

Hugs, Charlie

Sadly, the company I work for installed the Internet on every PC, then installed blocking software so you can only go to the company website. Makes sense, doesn't it?

Ugghh! That place is even worse than here. It's usually a bit warmer there in the summer than here (Lancaster) because the elevation is about sea level. Here it's about 2500 ft. in the valley where I work, and 3500 on the hillside where I live.

Glad your house wasn't flooded. That would have been a real bummer. Been to San Antonio once, seemed like an ok place. I hear they have a basketball team there and that once upon a time it was actually pretty good. Wink

The As would have been a good team to watch. They've been pretty hot themselves. Too bad they lost, though. Did you happen to see the All Star farce? I swear Bud Selig is out to ruin the game. Today he's saying that some unnamed team won't be able to make it's payroll next week. I guess he's trying to take our minds off of his stupid decisions and get us thinking about some other negative aspect of the game. Oh well, there's always football season.

Think good thoughts,
e

I live in Florida......Yuck! I love our 5 minutes
of winter. I get to wear a sweater maybe 3 times
around February.
Right now it is raining everyday, the humidity is
20000 and the mosquitoes are the size of cats.
I would love to live where the seasons change and
the leaves change color. Palm trees do not turn.
If you've ever spent Christmas Day in shorts, you
know what I mean.

They have the computers in our lab at school blocked.
The computers are linked to a main board at the front
of the room. If someone types in an "undesirable"
address, a red light blinks on to locate that student.
One day, we all typed in http://www.whitehouse.com . You
should have seen the uproar. All the little red lights
flashing. It was so funny. We all claimed Presidential
studies :)Not far from the truth a year or two ago.
The teacher tried to be pissed but he was trying not
to laugh. Wonder if he went home and typed it in?
Next day, same old, same old..........but it was funny.

Yeah, the A's dropped two of three to the M's in that series, the A's went wild the first game (night before we went) winning by six. I think the AL will again be decided in the West Champ series.

Yeah, SA has a bball team. Not my game though. Can't play myself, look like a spazz dribbling. So I could really care less about the Spurs. But I do hear all my workmates grumbling about this and that. And at least they are finally getting past the first round now.

Seen the signs for Lancaster, but have never been there. Only get to So Cal every couple years, and usually just passing through. Silly too, because I was born and raised in Monterey. Didn't even make it to Disneyland until I was 21.

Hugs, Charlie

I play every sport pretty much like I play football, with a linebacker mentality. That's not the best appraoch to the game. I tended to foul out a LOT. I am a HUGE Laker fan but I am no real fan of the game. So if the Lakers aren't playing, I'm not watching. Fortunately, they tend to play later into the season than most other teams. hehehe.

You're not missing much by not coming to Lancaster. Horrid place, actually. Though they do have a really cool baseball stadium and a class A minor league team, the Jethawks (aerospace being the area's largest industry). They are an affiliate of the AZ Diamondbacks, though it used to be the Mariners.

I've never been to Disneyland and I lived in Long Beach for four years and SoCal for 19.

Hugs and think good thoughts,
e

I loved my first Christmas in LA. We had a clambake at the beach. It was a little chilly for shorts, but I didn't need a jacket. I even sent Christmas cards to all my relatives in Ohio, Chicago, Pittsburgh, etc. that had pictures of palm trees and a beautiful orange sunset. They didn't think it was very funny.

A few years ago, after moving to the desert we had 8 inches of snow on Decmber 23. Christmas morning it was all gone. Surprised(

The leaves change color here. They turn green for about 10 minutes, then turn brown, catch fire, and after that they are black. Not exactly New England.

One great thing about the desert is that we don't get too many biting insects. Fleas don't even exist here. Too dry for them to breed. It seems they have to have some humidity. The bad part is there are plenty of cockroaches, ants, and scorpions. Not to mention the rattlesnakes, coyotes, and mountain lions.

Hey smith. You'd love it here in the UK then, we get all the seasons, sometimes all in one day....lol. Today started very sunny and warm, then we had rain, then hail and thunder, it's back sunny again now. My favourite season is autumn (fall as you call it) when the trees go brown and the air is full of good smells.

Seasons I forgot such things existed...Until I left home for the university.
Get this, in my home town it's about 30-33 degrees celsius all year round! the last time we had snow was five years ago for ten minutes and it all melted before hitting the ground. Sad

Back here it's turning into summer again so I'll get to enjoy dry heat again all day long...

don't mind me just runting as usual Smile

Be cool

I bet I would love it in the UK. Right now, the only
things happy in Florida are the alligators, the
tourists at DisneyWorld and the Great Dane sized
mosquitoes.
My family always flies out to Wyoming on Thanksgiving
break and the first thing we do is drive til we find
snow. I remember the exact moment I realized that it
wasn't always fluffy and fun but cold and WET and a
snowball hurts. But, I still love it.
