It's odd. Soimetimes a "goodbye" is the hardest thing in the world. At other times it is a happy thing tinged with damp eyes.

At present I am facing saying farewell to a dear friend who has taught me much, and who says I have taught him something too. He leaves the "online world" on Saturday, and takes on a new life in a new city during the following few weeks.

In his life has been much trouble. To make up for it there is now much love in abundance. He is surrounded by it and is starting to see and accept it.

He is a young man I respected at once, and will miss deeply. But not "miss"in a selfish way. I will think of him and his new life, and send warm wishes to him and prayers for him, for he has suffered much and has a lot of the suffering to unwind and process and finally dump onto the scrapheap.

He has not been as physically fit as he would like. That is changing because he is working hard at it. He has not been as emotionally fit as he would like. He is working hard at that too.

My sweet friend, I will miss you. So will all who know you. But I will look at the stars and talk to you often

I'm not very good at goodbye.

I wish you the best of all possible things and know that God will go with you as you make a new life for yourself. May your
days be filled with peace and your heart be filled with happiness.

Hi guys , I hope you don't mind me posting here ..

I too would like to say good-bye to this special person ( Angel ) . Its been just over a year now that we became friends and I find it hard to believe that we will not be talking to each other anymore .. But I also know that you and I will always be friends , if not on here in our hearts .

So until we meet again ..I wish you all the happiness in the world and may God look out for you .. Thanks for everything ..

your friend ...Rick from Canada .

I agree with everything that Tim has written.

I too shall miss our regular online chats and his sweet personality. But I rejoice (truly, sincerely) in the new direction that his life is now going to take. He deserves only the very best that life can now offer him.

For me, it was typical of him that despite all the upheaval of moving, he remembered to send me a New Year's e-card. (Remember? How did he even know that this coming Saturday is the beginning of a new Jewish year?) So his portentious move is on the first day of the year for me. I offer him a blessing that we Jews often say on that day: "Let the old end with all its curses, let the new begin with all its blessings".

Good luck, dearest Neph, sweetest soul.

I thought our friend was just offline for awhile, this isn't a permanent goodbye, is it?

BTW, Rick - I'm really glad to see you here, bud!

Are you the Neph that is the author of the 'Serving the God' story? It would seem so, as there aren't too many Nephs out there... Smile

Just wanted to say, I read it, and I LOVED it... What a sweet story! Should have sent you an email, but it didn't happen. Sad Sorry about that, and I hope I'm not too late.

This Neph is not the Neph that wrote the story. In this case Neph is short for Nephew, not for Nepher
