Hehe, today actually, since it's 03.00 in the morning. Blech, I PROMISED to get in bed on time tonight!
Well, I'm not accountable to anyone (least of all myself apparantly, haha!), so nobody cares about my little transgression.
I will tell you how it goes, but I'm somewhat disturbed to hear you're voting for the right.
Anyway, I hope you're enjoying yourself a lot, and that "your" boy doesn't have a girlfriend yet (or a boyfriend, haha!).
Take good care!

Middle of the night for you, Sunday morning here in the East...raining cats and dogs so I'm not going out anywhere.
I liked the newest installment of your series!!!!! Anybody else read that and send the proper fan-mail?
I haven't been posting, but I continue to lurk and read when I can muster any left-over energy from work and worry...
I go see Man for a few days the end of September, tho. That's good news!
Also, HI TREVOR! Hugs to Charlie! Watch out that your A** doesn't become a snack for them Gators, smith!

...with about 40% of the votes so at least they will not be in a majority position in the parliament thank goodness. Where the (far) right has gained in Europe in other countries, the reverse is happening over here, which I think is good.
Our Moderate Coalition Party (think the equivalent of the Republicans in the US, but nowhere near as right as them) has lost almost 8%, while the social democrats gained about 4%. Bloc balance is almost exactly the same however, so it's mainly voters moving around between the different parties. It's a shift towards the middle when Social Democrats gain on behalf of the Leftist Party and the People's Party (sort of like the US Democrat party, still to the right but not quite as much) gain on behalf of the Moderates.
Btw, for anyone interested in knowing, I voted for the Environmentalist Party in local and regional elections, mainly because they want to limit car traffic and spend on public transportation. I made this my main issue this time 'round, I don't have the patience to investigate every opinion every party has. I'll likely disagree with them on some or maybe many ideas they have, but you can't have everything... On the national level I voted for the Leftist party. They were once the communist party, but that was a long time ago now. They push things like equality between sexes and have liberal views on immigration, rights for all sexual orientations (including adoptions, etc) and such. They also state in their party program they want to abolish capitalism (which would be positive for our planet and the people living on it), but they're not so hardcore as to actually try and enforce those ideas. Just like the Social Democrats have in their party program they want to make Sweden into a republic. Despite all the years they've been in power, they've never dared to even suggest we depose our king. Few politicians have become successful by being brave, and it really shows on the national level, sigh. No wonder we're down to 1948 levels on voting attendance - about 77%. Even worse than last time, which was bad enough at 80-ish %. People KNOW politicians don't really care about the issues, it's staying in power that matters.

My number one agenda in politics is public transportaion, for many many reasons. The primary reasons are, social interaction and the enviroment.
Just a quick unrelated thought...

Good to know there's other people that care about such things too.
Social interaction? On public transportation? On the London subway (and the Stockholm subway too by the way) it feels like riding in an elevator; ie, you're supposed to shut up even if you're in company with someone you know. It's kind of a taboo to speak... Very weird. It's not as bad on the trams in my city, but you still don't address a stranger, not unless you want to be thought of as a bit of a kook...!
By the way, I'm trying to get your emails replied to, sorry for taking so much time to reply. I'm usually quick, but right now I'm kinda in a weird mood and have difficulties sorting out my thoughts, so it's a bit hard. Again, my apologies.
But don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you... I'll try to get around to it as quickly as I can, and THANKS for writing me, it really does mean a lot to me.

First, never a need to apologize to me, I am a patient sot. hehe
As for the social aspect of my comment about public transportation. Having lived in different areas with and wthout adequate public transportation I have come to several conclusions. One of wich is the lack of one on one social contact. Not on the mode of transport itself, but in the general "foot traffic" that takes place, or that an area lacks. When you force a society to use automobiles for several decades, people generally get into this isolated bubble, get to their desired destination, and never see anyone on the way. Over extended periods of time, I believe this has a pemanent negative effect, that most folks never even notice.
People seem (especially in the U.S.A.), to live in the condidtions within a few miles of their home, and never really understand what life might be like outside the sphere of thier lives.
Such ignorance, may be part of the right-wing, isolationist type views wich prevail WAY to much for my taste, in the U.S.
So, I will swim uptream on this issue.
