It's been some time since I updated the MB about Haggai's progress. (You may recall that Haggai is the director of Jerusalem's Open House who has been struck down by the Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), which left him almost completely paralyzed. Recovery from this syndrome (which is certain) is very slow.
It is now several months since Haggai was hospitalized. He is now able to breathe by himself, he can talk, and he has a certain minimal use of his hands. He can carry on a telephone conversation if someone holds the phone for him. He has been moved from the intensive care ward he was in so that he can get a lot more physiotherapy. He is now moved daily from his bed into an armchair.
That's it. Very, very slow - but sure. Please keep him in your minds and in your hearts.

He seems to be such a wonderful and caring person, please do as much as you can to help him and support him emotionally...
I was in hospital too with an infection in my nervous system once, but I was never completely paralyzed and it was only for about two weeks. However, I do remember how difficult it was being there alone, so please keep him company whenever you can and tell him I am thinking about him and wishing for him to get better as quickly as possible...!
Thanks for writing these small reports.

It's so good to hear that he is progressing, even if it is slowly. I can't even imagine how frustrated he must be. Please tell him he is in my prayers.
