Well guess I should do a little introduction, my name is Jeff Im 16 and I started coming to this site about 5 monhts ago. In between the time I first visited this site and now a lot has gone on in my life and I just wanted to thank all of you who post on here and write stories. These stories have perked my moood when I was feeling down and helped me find the courage to finally tell a few friends that I am gay. I just wanted to thank everyone and tell you to keep up the good work Smile.

Thanks!
Jeff

Twoi things have. You as a new friend, and the fact that the site works.

I started it about 4 years ago, a little less maybe, as a way of showing people that they were not alone, and were not abnormal. If I have a mission it is to show boys the age I was when I found I was gay that we deserve and can expect love. Ours is not, unless we choose it, a life of casual sex in toilets, bars or elsewhere.

That is not to say that sex per se is bad, nor that casual sex is bad. But it is not our lives. It does not rule us and is a concious choice.

Please stay, now you have posted for the first time. Join in, be family.

Welcome Jeff! It's great to know that there's another 16-year-old in the group that I can communicate with! Smile

Just like you, I'm pretty new to the group -- just about 3-4 weeks. But, I have to tell you, I was so glad I made that post here. I made so many friends and so many people gave me a ton of advice. It was almost overwhelming. And Timmy's great, too. I talk to him everyday and I always look forward to our conversations. He just brightens up each and every day for me.

But, once again, welcome! If you have any questions or if you need advice, I am here to help if you want to ask me. I bet we 16-year-olds could learn a lot from each other's experiences. Please, keep posting and stay in touch!

HELLO, Jeff Smile

Why is EVERYONE older than me? Oh, well. Big welcomes to you, our new friend.
This is the BEST place to be when you are happy; when you are sad; or anything in between.

May I be allowed to add my belated welcome to those already posted? I wish I'd known at 16 what I know now - I would never have grown up! Enjoy your stay in IOMFATS land - you'll make lots of new friends - but you already know that.

... as you may be aware, I've been a little bit busy these past few hours. I, for one of those very infrequent times in one's life, found that I may truly have made a difference when the chips were down. Others were when I became an adoptive parent, first to one youth (my youngest son), abandoned by his family, who seemingly trusted me and my judgement to care for him and guarantee his best interests, the second when I adopted my second (and elder) son. This evening seems to have been one more. I truly hope so.

Jeff. Welcome. *Jaimie speaks glowingly about you, and referred to you during the course of a later contact I had with him some hours ago.

I sincerely wish for you, that you find the solice, the comfort and fulfillment that you may be seeking from those of us who are habituées here at A Place of Safety.

You've certainly made a good start of it by making us aware that you are in fact here.

And, too, I say to all of you other youths, and even younger ones, whom I'm told by a very reliable source (*Jaime again) that are lurking out there in the twilight of this Message Board:

COME ONE, COME ALL - ENTER INTO THE LIGHT.

Let Yourself be known, and be seen to be known, just as Jeff has now done; as TomS recently has, and as *Jaimie and Dan, Ien, and others have done before you.

You are safe here. No-one and I mean no-one, will molest, interfere, or otherwise hassel you here.

We need to hear from you.

As young people, you are what fulfils our future; you guarantee posterity - if not our own, humankinds'.

Let us help shape your thoughts, your attitudes and your beliefs.

Let us be the driving force behind your questions, and fuel your desire for truth and understanding. Lets us impart to you our collective knowledge; knowledge hopefully tempered by the wisdom of our experience, and most certaintly by our age.

But we can only truly claim success if we know for a cert, that you are there, and listening. By proxy is Ok, if you must, but remember too, that *Jaimie, God bless him, can only shoulder so much, although he is showing considerable strength and resolve for such tender years, it could come a time where it is too much even for him. Ease some of his burdens, and surrender yours by stepping through that doorway, and tell us you have arrived; even if only but to say you're here, and then you step back into the shadows, if you must. Remember, too, that you confidentially contact any of here, with impunity. We all publish our respective e-Mail addresses with our *posts*, at least I'm sure those of us with the little "red" ® do. All will occasion themselves to rise to your request for assistance, whatever that might be; you only have to speak up, and ask.

Warren C. E. Austin demurely steps down from his soap-box, turns and quietly segues stage-left, or is that supposed to be stage right? curtains.
