Last night someone bludgeoned my good friend Rose's cat to death. A trail of blood was found leading up the stairs in the rear of her appartment building... of course no one heard anything...
To harm an innocent animal is beyond reproach...
I hope whoever did this will rot in hell...
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

I suppose it could not have been a car hit it? No, you would have said

Whoever the sick bastard is, I sure hope they are punished for it.
Could the cat have dragged itself after getting hit like timmy said?
Darn, that makes me mad, I just got a new kitty this week, from the wild.
I cannot understand it.

I am sad for your friend too Marc. It is a horrible thing to harm another life because you can. I dont like Cats and my Dad is allergic to them but to do that? never.
One day, something living that means something to the perpetrators may suffer a similar fate, I wonder if they will remember the SAME type of senseless attack on something that couldnt defend itself. IF I were there, I would gladly buy Rose a new kitty.

I got Kitty-kat from Rose about a year ago.... She couldn't keep 2 cats...
Kitty is like a little kid.... It knows nothing other than mischief and love.... She sleeps on Kevy's feet....
Gasper well we volunteered to cat sit for a friend and was (happily) cat dumped.... she sleeps next to Kitty-kat...
I wouldn't part with either of them for the world because they are a huge part of our family....
It is a good thing that I don't know who did this thing...
Rose came here to have dinner with Kevy and myself this evening, she is going to call the ASPCA and request an investigation.
Rose will miss her kitty, she is a wonderful person and a hugely wonderful friend. Kevy and I would do anything to take this hurt away from her... but we can't... All we can do is be there for her...

This kind of thing leaves me speechless. I just can't imagine what would drive a person to hurt an animal.
Think good thoughts,

Perhaps it comes down to british gallows humour again.
A out-take from "The Waltons", yes they of sleeping with hands outside the bedclothes and so goody two shoes it ain't true, had John Boy saying, "That doesn't mean you should hang him by his balls from the Christmas Tree!"
But it does. We should.
Something struck me, too. It somehow is more horrific when such a thing happens to a creature that trusts people than to a person. It may seem incongruous to be so outraged by this "simple" atrocity that by the Bali horror, but it is not. Rose, though we do not know her, is family because of Marc. Her cat is our cat. I don't intend any insensitivity here to the Balinese nor to the people who died. Ron has brought one of those close by his friendship with someone the other side of the world from him, too.
That someone poisoned my first ever cat, Oliver, hurts still. That the IRA bombed the hell out of London in the 80s and 90s pales into insignificance.
