Please be aware of how some current viruses work:
  • They grab a file from the infected PC
  • they grab an email address from a microsoft outlook or outlook express address book, OR from a random web page
  • they fake the email header
  • they send the email
  • they atempt to deposit the viurs on the recipient;s machine
  • they create a random message text and subject line
This causes odd things to happen

If it picks up a "rude picture", you will be as embarrassed as hell, by the way.

If the file enclosed is one of a saved private chat, that can be rather unfunny

So, you and your friends now fall out in a big way. A big fight happens. Tears fall.

Do make sure yout antivirus software is up to date.

I keep my AV Programme up to date and also have Zone Alarm Pro to help in the fight. A little something I once read that could help also with these nasty lil proggies reading you address book.

At the VERY beginning of your address book, make a NEW contact and name it 10000. That is ALL you have to do. This will reside at the begining of your address book list. When one of these HORRID lil proggies tries to MASS mail, it will get to that and confuse the shit out of it and wont go any further.Smile Worth a try and it CANT hurt. Smile

Thanks for the tip. However, it won't fool the more sophisticated virus programmes such as Klez. [sigh]

If you are friends, then you are friends through innane little problems like Tim listed above....

And furthermore, if you know about the nature of these virus's and still allow their effects to get in the way of a friendship then there wasn't much of a friendship there to begin with.

Get over it!!!!!

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
