I was notified over the weekend that my volunteer services were no longer desired by the child advocates association in my town. It was just a letter with no explanation. Very low class I thought.

Today I tried to call my supervisor but she would not respond. So I thenk asked to speak with her supervisor. She then explained why I had been tossed on my ear. It is because I come to this site and post! The site was deemed inappropriate for a child advocate and for their protection, my services were no longer needed.

Can you believe that? A group which is supposed to help victimized children deems this site inappropriate.

How did they know to check this site out? My big mouth. I mentioned to my supervisor that I talked to kids in trouble on line and she asked for the site name. Iomfats just kinda popped out. Luckily I didn't mention some others that probably would have brought a witch hunt down on me.

My vent is now over. Needless to say, I am not giving up my right to come to this site and speak. So I am off to others places, looking to volunteer my time and help any way I can. Thank you to all my friends on this site, for you have kept me sane for a year now. And I have made some great friends here too.

Hugs, Charlie

Sorry, Charlie. Ironic that most of us are in many ways active advocates for children here. I suppose it's best if they err on the side of caution, but it is sad that we can't always be who we really are or express our views without people jumping to inaccurate conclusions. I have a friend who won't put a link to his own web site on his message board, probably for similar reasons - having to segregate parts of himself for different "audiences." Sad, but I know I do the same.

that this site would not be looked upon with favor by "child advocates." Those who run such agencies go overboard in trying to ensure that they do not hire someone who may harm a child. In some respects it is good for them to be cautious, in other respects it is ridiculous that they can go too far. I suppose that Christ himself would not pass thier scrutiney because he frequented brothels and associated with prostitutes. What he actually DID there would not have mattered.

BTW Charlie, I hear red caps with the letter "A" are coming into fashion. Have one yet?

Think good thoughts,

while one can postulate that there is a possible danger to a child since any one here could be classified by authorities in a manner dfferent from what we each know oursleves to be, very few if any child protection and support orgtanisation staff have ANY idea what it is like to BE a kid. Let alobe a gay or "worried" kid.

And they are the ones that would never be caught in the child support net. And those nets forget the adults those kids become.

Be of good cheer. The supervisor had to work this way. Society insists on it. However good a person you are, their hands are tied.

BUT, it is very frustrating that the world has come to this. That hatred and intolerance is more common than love and acceptance. And that is the main reason why I will continue to frequent this site, as it is one small beacon in the vast sea where all are welcome as long as they also believe in the principles that make men want to spread the light.
