I would like to hear about some of your interests.
I am still trying hard to find a comfort level here again. So lets talk about topics YOU like.
Besides, one of my interests is all of you.
**Kevin's hand on his chin as he ponders his family**
All my best to you,

Mmmmmmmm well, my interests have changed over the last 4 years abnd a lot of the things I used to do are slightly out of my reach now a days. I like to Swim and I like to go out and have some fun ( I will do more soon as I get to know about where I now live).
I like being on the Net and I have a lil interest in Computers. I like to help people and I try to listen to others when that is WHAT they need. Sometimes I do ok and other times?? I dont?? I have some special people around that also keep my interests level, there is one that is VERY close to this Board.
Thats about all for me........ oops almost forgot. I am the head of the Kangaroo Mafia. The Americans among you maye have Superman but we have Steve Irwin and Crocodile Dundee and OF COURSE, my Roos with their uzzis and 303's They also have other gruesome methods for maintaining peace.
People have a habit of changing your direction through life

As if anyone couldn't tell from reading Lion's Den (two shameless plugs in one night... cool!), I'm into sports. Football and baseball mostly, but I watch Lakers' basketball too. I still get to bowl on occasion and want to take up golf again. Nearly got myself a free set of clubs, but when the guy called back, my wife erased the message with all the information (silly thing, wives).
Then of course there's music. Rock, mostly from the sixties and seventies. They tend to call it "classic rock" these days. Favortie band? The Grateful Dead (another shameless plug here, any Deadhead should have recognized the legend in my latest story Strangers in Town). Other favs: The Doors, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, Beatles, Stones, Janis Joplin, etc. I'm also way into the Blues and like Classical music too. I used to sneak into Blossom Music Center to listen to the Cleveland Orchestra back in the seventies.
Collections: I have several replicas of Medieval weaponry (swords, knives, a battle axe, and two tribal bloguns from Indonesia. A small collection of firearms and enough ammo to start WWIII, but I never use any of it anymore, though I used to do some target shooting. A very small collection of Buddhist and Hindu Gods, some brass and some carved sapphires and rubys.
Other than that I like to get into the outdoors, especially into the mountains. I LOVE to travel to new places and visit museums. Of course I do a TON of surfing on the net. And, oh yeah, I write a little sometimes.
Think good thoughts,
e

Well, first is Kevin, my love.
My writing... whether anybody reads it or not...
The Gay Writers' Guild...
Computers... Go figure...
Remodeling our home... Hey, I'm gay, it's what we do...
Renaisance fairs... Yup, I like to watch the mud men...
Flea Markets, Yard Sales, Estate Sales, Auctions...
I collect Jade to some extent, Cook Books, Gourmet Cookware and Kitchen Utensils, Classic Movies and Vintage Music...
I Cook...
I love my 2 kitties, Gasper and KittyKat...
I love the beach (Cape Cod preferably)...
And alot more......
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

but one I have always had is to work with children. And when I think about the leading causes of death among children, I see red. So I spend a lot of time looking for ways to help. But it seems every time I find an organized effort to woth with, I shoot myself in the foot and they drop me like a hot potato. Ah, well.
Other passions include beating e in the World Series (well, actually, rooting for the Giants to beat the Angels), NASCAR, eagles, and my kids.
Hugs, Charlie

smith breaking into song......"whiskers on kittens and blue satin sashes...." Yep..guilty pleasure The Sound of Music.
Hmmm.....passion has pretty much evaded me yet; I do love many things:
*ocean waves and the sound of the surf
*Christmastime ~ when everyone is nice like they should be all year
*My dog Jerimiah and my cat Kissy
*my parents
*throwing pots ~ no not that kind ~ the kind on the wheel
*my Kicker41
*my true friends
*Gone From Daylight and its author
*peanut butter & honey sandwiches crystalized
*drawing
*sunrises and rings around the moon
*reading
*eclectically, John Denver's Wild Montana Skies, Elton John's The One, Vince Gill&Reba McEntire's The Heart Won't Lie, U2's Walk On and :::blush::: Enrique Iglesias' Let Me Be Your Hero.
*not taking pills day by day
*someone I lost along the way
*and a poem:
He was my north,my south, my east, my west.
My working week and my Sunday rest
My moon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever ~
I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now;
Put out every one
Pack up the moon, and dismantle the sun.
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
Things not to be Understood or Comprehended:
bigotry, hatred, cruelty, letting animals go with a simple painless shot and making people suffer, why there have to be lines drawn to separate people and why hurt comes to children who only want butterfly kisses and Chinese kites.

You have just gotta be improbable; yet at one and the same time I DO KNOW that you exist.
smith you are one truly oh so remarkable young "man"!
Where were you hiding when I was your age wanting desperately to find someone "just like you".
Unfortunately, any wisdom that I may have acquired somewhere along with advanced age dictates that I had I found "you" back then, I really wouldn't have been able to appreciate the gift, nor known precisely how to fulfil your needs any better than I would have mine own.

I also love Hero - one of the most romantic "top 40" I've heard in a long time.
I'll think more on this - "things you love" is more definable for me than "passionate about" as well.

You know why I love that song? It has no gender bias and is totally sexy
"Would you dance if I asked you to dance? Or would you run and never look back?"
Whoa,Enrique! I'd dance! Actually, that whole CD is like ahhh!

Hey smith...I already liked you...and now with your love of Auden AND "Wild Montana Skies"...well, that just clinches it.
Oh...and for the man who loves "succor..." Very cool.
Never mind me...just in a weird mood today. It's the first day off I've had in ages.

Like smith I don’t think I am a passionate person but I know what I like.
Nature - I spent most of my working life trying to conserve it.
Gardening
Reading especially Tolkien, Philip Pulman, J K Rowling,as well as Dickens Thackery Austen and other classics
My dogs
Needlework, mostly canvas work, rugs, wall hangings church kneelers
Weaving
Putting something back into society
A really good storm - when you’re safe inside
Painting - watercolours
I nearly forgot, my family!
Friendship is the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts or measure words

Are my convictions so extreem in this forum?
Their are many other things that I both like and dislike.
Perhaps you are right, I should focus on things we have in common.

He honoured her offer.
All through the night, he was off her and on her!"

Stop with that boohoo face !!
You use the word "passionate" where I use "love" or "enjoy".
Passion:
*any strong, powerful emotion such as love, joy, hatred, anger or greed
*ardent adoring love
*strong sexual desire;lust
*boundless enthusiasm
*an abandoned display of emotion
I think we are just using different words for the same feeling: You have a passion for politics; you could discuss it all night. I love working at the YMCA. I could try to teach those kids how to shoot that b-ball all day. Boundless enthusiasm in both cases.
I guess I just always relate the word passion to the sexual meaning........wrong me !
Luv Ya ~ smith
