You are not the only one in school; it only seems that way! Here you will find support. If you tell us more about yourself and more about the troubles you seem to be having in school I'm sure there will be people here who will be able to give you good advice. If you are too shy to tell your story here, tell it privately, by email, to anyone here whom you choose. In any case, welcome to our family. Smile

You are never alone, it just feels that way sometimes...

Don't worry about what to say and what not to say, be yourself and be polite (always polite Smile) and everything will be great.

Please share with us, either here or in private, what is wrong and we'll try and help. At the least we can be here to listen when you need to get things off your chest.

We are here Smile

Hehe this is so great. We're getting more and more new faces each week.

From one youngster (16 here Smile) to another, Andy, WELCOME!

Feel free to talk to any of us if you're struggling with any problems. Even though only a few of us are around your age(besides myself, names like smith, Gil, and Ashley come to mind), almost everyone here is GREAT and so nice, and they all can help you with whatever you're dealing with (despite the recent bickering you've seen! Smile).

Welcome again!

Welcome. There are some great people here. Friendly people, who won't judge you and who will listen.

You are not as alone as you think.

You hate school? Join my club !! Believe me, you aren't the only kid at school like you even though it can feel like that sometimes.

Talk on here or e-mail any of the friendly people that are saying 'Hello'. I'm very glad you decided to say "Hi".

Hi Andy,

I hated school until I went to university, and I think a large part was because I am gay, but being tall, skinny and uncoordinated did not help either. Basically, I did not feel that I "fit in".

As for you being alone, I don't agree with this for two reasons.

a) Firstly, there are others like you at school. You just don't know who they are. For instance, I thought the same thing when I was your age. The funny thing is that my best friend turned out to be gay too. We just never talked about it. He came out to me when he was 27 and I to him when I was 33. The fear of "getting caught" was much stronger than the willingness to open up even to a friend. Something that I regret now.

b) Secondly, the internet allows you to open up to people just like yourself, like us. You can communicate with someone who understands what you are going through, and that helps more than anything else. Plus, you can have some fun while you are doing it.

I too hated school with a vengeance, and I was also picked on. The one thing I was never called was gay (kinda funny in a way I suppose), but then again, gaybashing wasn't really "in" back in the start of the 90s when I was in highschool, not in my country anyway.

When I was still in school, I couldn't wait until it was over. These days however there's nothing I'd like to be back there. Smile There's so many things I missed, let myself miss.

If you are being harassed, talk to your teachers. If they do nothing, talk to your headmaster. If he/she does nothing, talk to the police. And if possible, talk to your parents! You have to talk, for your own sake. Don't carry it on the inside.

If you want to talk to me, exchange experiences and ideas etc, send me a mail, okay? Smile

Hello, Andy.

I can understand being fed up with other people giving you a hard time. I admit, I propably can't imagine what it's like, but I can understand being fed up with it... But even then, on the long run anyway, you DON'T want to be left alone. It can be quite lonely to be just left alone, trust me.

Well, hopefully you decide to stick around...

Setras

PS. Didn't really mean this to sound so... depressing, but not feeling that great at the moment, so... Sorry...

So glad you decided to drop by. I think you will find that you have many friends here including me. The people here are wonderful.

I am sure you will fit right in.

By the way, sorry about school. Been there. Just know that someday it will all be just a memory. Think good thoughts till then. Smile

All my best,
Kevin
