For those of you who don't know much about me, I'm a volunteer firefighter. Last night / very early this morning, we received a strange call. We were told to respond to a location, and we would be told what for when we arrive.
We arrived to be told, that we are there to assist with a homicide investigation. The authorities needed lighting provided which we did. 5 hours we spent there helping where needed.
Here's what we learned on scene.
8 young adults (college kids) were doing a "hazing" for a fraturnity. Of the 8, 7 will have criminal records for the rest of there lives. The 8th young man, lost his life.

Hazing has been outlawed here because of this exact reason.
If nothing else, I hope this may reach someone before they concider taking part in such activities, and rethink what may happen. Personaly, I don't see any fraturnity worth losing a life over.

Let's see, a hazing is different all the time. Some fraturnities make you swallow gold fish, another i was told about has you drink one beer of every brand available in a certain amount of days, etc. It's like "Passing a test set up by your peers". Hope this explains a little.

So far what we can piece together, it was like a bravery test. They pulled a reclining chair behind a pick-up truck. We assume that someone had to ride in this chair. Some how a small fire started in the bed of the truck, at the time, we believe the chair was there too, as to we found the completly torched chair at the scene. The boy that died, was in the back of the truck trying to put out other items that were burning, and the driver accelarated forward throwing the young lad out the back of the truck. They backed up and put him in the bed of the truck and headed to town to the hospital, being that they were all from out of town, they couldn't find it. When the boy started to convulse, they got scared and called for emergency help. According to times put together through the 7 people involved, it was like an hour before they made the call. Ok, now the charges they are looking at: the 3 in the truck are possibly looking at man slaughter, and get this, the other 4 in a different vehicle are being charged with tampering with evidence. (they erased a digital video of the whole thing) Both counts will be on there permanent record for life.

That's all i know at this time. Another life lost, just to belong to a group, to a fraturnity. What a waste!

As you can see from the article, they try to blame it on a movie, but read further down, and the police report shows that it was not connected to the movie at all.
