Just wanted to say HI. I haven't posted in quite some time. I'm not sure why. I just haven't felt like I had anything to say. But I had been lurking and reading posts until about eight days ago. I haven't been on the internet at all since then. I took a trip to San Diego. Not very far, but my wife and I had a timeshare week we had to use so we figured it would be a cheap trip. The trip wasn't very much for guy watching, but I had fun anyway. Lots of neat stuff to do. Antique shopping (I bought a reproduction of Chinese Emporer's Throne), San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, wine country (they make some very fine wines in the mountains north of the city), and two trips to Mexico (Tijuana, Ensenada, Rosarita, Estero Beach, Calafia, and La Bufadora). The best Margaritas I ever had were in Ensenada at the Bahia Hotel. But it's hard to beat the beer and Tequila in Tijuana. Two for one beers ($2.50 with a free shot of Tequila). Somewhere in between drinking four beers and two shots I had an excellent lunch of carne asada and chicken fajitas. Did most of my Christmas shopping too.

Anyhow, while I was gone, I realized how much I miss this place. Even if I'm not speaking up and saying much, just being here to read the posts is comforting. I know I missed a lot and there's no way I can catch up. I did read a few posts, though. timmy, I was glad to hear that you were able to keep your job. And Kevin, I was glad to hear that you got yours back. As for the rest of you, it's good to see you are still around and I hope you are doing well.

Oh yeah, Lenny. I think you owe me an email.

Think good thoughts,
e

Oops, I know I owe you an email... My bad.

I've been intending for days to send you one. Sorry that I haven't managed. Really glad to see you again though, that's wonderful!

Read about your Mexico trip with great delight, but I tell you this just as a precaution... NEVER expect to get TWO beers AND a free tequila shot for $2.50 in Sweden... HAHA! Smile

Hugs!

It good to be back.

I never expect such deals anywhere but TJ. Even in Ensenada the price isn't quite that good. Though if you want to buy liquor to bring back across the border the price is better in Ensenada.

I used to spend Christmas in San Diego with my family. It brought back nice memories. Sea food at Anthonies, La Jolla, TJ--it is a great place.

Thanks,

Darren

And thank you for your kind words. I don't really have my job back yet. So far, just a preliminary agreement. We shall see.

Anyway, the point is that I missed you as much as you missed us. I am glad to see you, and I do hope we see more of you in the future. You bring a lot to our family's table.

Stay happy and healthy,

Kevin

Agh, seven curses on Bill Gates. It was all typed up and everything and when I hit the send button I got a "server not found" error... Darn it!

I'll try again tomorrow, sorry.

I did that today too. I was trying to send one to my brother. fortunately, I hit the back button and still had the message. I guess that it just gives me something to look forward to tomorrow.

Yes it is a great place. I may get to spend a bit more time there too. My son-in-law may get transferred there next summer. If so, I'll be heading that way at least once a month if not more for visits with him, my daughter, and grand daughter.

At least a preliminary agreement is a step in the right direction. I do think you'll see a lot more of me in the future. I never really left, I just lurked for a while.

I had also fallen behind on my reading. But I have now corrected that as far as "The Visitor" is concerned. The ending was a bit shocking and bittersweet but it was an excellent story. I enjoyed it a lot.
