Now he doesn't need luck, he needs love and the decent parents he knows he has.

One of my friends is potentially about to have the "Folks, I think grandchildren may be unlikley" with his folks.

Nope, I am not saying who he is. If he is wise, nor will he either, since he will feel pressured by all the "Good luck Hubert" messages. Er his name is not Hubert, so that narrows it down a little.

We've talked about doing thsi only when he feels comfortable and in the middle of feeling loved.

Actually, he doesn't need luck. He needs a simple calmness about him and the refusal to react in any negative manner to any shock or distress his folks may show initially.

Remember - most parents are pretty darn good at unconditionally loving their kids. Acceptance may take awhile, of course! We are all rooting/wishing/praying for you.
