i think im gonna tell my internet friend that now isnt the right time for me... it really isnt. internet dating is too far out there for the 17yr old me, it just isnt right yet, maybe another time

Realised I missed this having just written a reply to tim's original post.
I think you've made a good decision. Apart from being ready for a relationship, I can see there would be big problems (eg transport, where to hang out etc) if you're trying to keep it secret from parents.
If he's worth waiting for, he'll still be there when you're ready. And when you're ready, cover your back the first few times you do meet up for real.
