Hello people.
I am new here, and I do not know anyone here. Actually, I did write Tim a while back pouring out my heart and everything else that was within me, I dunno if I scared him or something... (Or if he remembers it and knows who I am. I feel a little embarassed by that by the way. Sorry.)
Anyway, I am that type of person that is pathologically convinced nothing about me could possibly interest anyone else, why should they bother, etc. So nobody has to read what I post, I almost expect you not to actually. I will still post something (probably a thorny piece of myself; all I got is pieces, and they're all thorny) every now and then just to pretend I'm doing SOMETHING at least.
(No, I'm not much of a party guy. Sorry. I said you didn't have to read...)
Here is the first piece.
Unknown:
I have a name
it was given to me,
but it is not mine.
I have a life
it was forced upon me,
but it is not mine.
I have a past
which means nothing to me,
and it is mine.
I have a future
which I can never see,
and it is not mine.
WHO AM I?
I do not know.

This is a place of safety, of friendship, of support. We wouldn't be here if we weren't interested in people!
Your life is clay. You are the artist. It is a great gift, for you to make anything out of that you wish!
I'm pretty passive and have let most of my life push me around, but I am happy to do that. I KNOW I can change my destiny at any time. I am an important part of others' lives (I'll bet you are too, even if you don't realize it) and don't want to change anything major right now. That's just me, though.
Your past, however painful or uneventful or whatever, gives you experiences which you can USE. Rebel from them, conform to them, learn from your mistakes, or others' mistakes.
We all have thorny peices and that's part of what keeps us from being too vanilla and boring.
Parties can be big and loud, or small, quiet, intimate. You may not have found the right party to join.
Anyway, that's enough bad analysis from an amature who's got as many problems as the next dude!
I hope we hear more from you later and you stick around for a while - seems like they need some newbies here to round out the mix - I'm pretty new myself but have lurked and known Tim for awhile.

Very happy to meet both of you actually!
The beauty of MB's like this is that you can be pretty much whoever you want to be...more yourself than you usually can be, and also try out new aspects of your personality.
At any rate, we WILL listen to you...it's what we do best...as long as you listen to us, too, of course! hehe

Your advice is sound, David. I will try to keep it in mind...
(In small portions though, so much of my life is pretend anyway, and for something like two weeks now I have been like totally in uproar, and not in a positive way. I will try to be more of myself also than I usually show even to myself. It's not easy.)
Thanks to you and Tim and Trevor too for taking the time to reply... It's really appreciated.
Dammit, I wanna have both the cry-smiley and the thumbs-up symbol. I'll go with the thumb though.

Hi and welcome to both Lenny and Trevor. Now, I'm not all that good with words really, so sorry if this post is rather plain and unexciting. but i hope that you'll stick around. To me it seems like you'd fit in fine with the rest of the guys here. It is lovely.
love,
brian

It is a simple thing.
- Be as much of yourself as you choose.
- If later you find you need to vary the perosn you seem to be, then do so without fear.
- Make friends, one or many
- Recogninse that other people are just like you
- Know that sometimes the perosn you liek most is going through his or her own shit and may be grumpy with no apparent reason, and forgive them
- If you find help, "pay it forward"
And finally and most important, feel welcome. We sometimes seem as dry as dust here, but we ain't. What we can do here, yoiung and old alike, is debate deep topics without rancour, without ill feeling, without insults. It's what I created this place for and why it has its title.

Welcome Lenny and Trevor. I too, am a newbie, sort of. I have been posting only for a short while, but as you can see from the board, have really gotten into this. It is fun, and you learn soo much from these old fogies (not you, Brian).
The secret to this board is to be yourself, with a little bit of wicked humor thrown in. If you really want to ask questions of someone, but do not want to post it on the board, we almost always have e-mail addys attached, and I have found all are more than willing to answer. But watch out, we might get you to come out of the shell more than you think (and that sure feels good).
Hugs, Charlie

Hi Lenny,
Of course I want to! If you took the trouble to post it why should I not have the pleasure of reading it?
Welcome to the board. Bottom line: WHO ARE YOU? - You are you, Lenny, a human being with infinite worth. Your past, your present and your future are, basically, what you have made them and choose to make them. Good luck. When you need a helping hand I hope you'll find it here.

I often tend to display more of my opinions than myself, I can't help it, I'm a bit outspoken in that regard (and for an example of what I mean, just look at the other thread I created).
Hope nobody minds, if I become too bothersome just ignore me... I'm used to it, I won't mind.
