This may (or may not) be a very emotional time for her. I have always heard that it not only screws up hormones but the psychological stuff can be really hard for a woman to go thru. I dont know if any of that is true, but thats what I always heard.
She is lucky to have someone who loves her as much as you do. I'm sure you will surround her with love and make her recovery a time filled with tenderness and caring and lots of smiles.
Think flowers, candy, stuffed animals, poems, magazines, rent some movies, and her favorite music on the CD player. It's time to spoil that lady a little bit. (and take care of all the xmas stuff - decorations, presents for your son, etc for her.)
My Mom was really sick one xmas, in intensive care, and all she could worry about was making sure we had a good xmas and that everything got done. She came home from the hospital on xmas day and my Dad had all the presents, the dinner, the tree - everything all done AND SHE CRIED she was so happy.
Please give your wife a rose and a hug from me.
