I've been reading the debate over 'The Story of Tim' with considerable dismay. I'm uneasy about S/M myself, I was uneasy when I read the story, and emailed my unease to Tim and Jack. But I'm even more uneasy that Tim has been (dare I say?) pressurised into ring-fencing the story. To my mind there are just three items in all this to-ing and fro-ing which are of fundamental importance.

1. Tim's post 'There is very little difference' of 12:57:01 on 01/11.02 (to find it in this morass, look under replies to Jack's post), and especially the part in blue. To me, this provides full justification for Tim's hosting of the story.

2. Richard Lyon's comment: 'This is Tim's site. I think he has the right to decide what he wants to present here.'

3. Ien's comment: 'This is Tim's site, he has the final say, I respect him very much and I trust him to make the right decision.'

Amen to all of that.
