I would have demanded my money back, and then, leaving the video on the counter, walk out of the store in search of another video store to rent it from. The next day I would have returned to that store, asked for the manager, tell him what happened, and calmly but firmly suggest that their clerks take an obviously much-needed crash-course in common courtesy.



I have not seen "The Heartbreak Club", by the way; I shall certainly check it out now, thanks to your recommendation.
