It may be within my financial power to buy myself a holiday trip to London. Air fares have become really cheap, and thus it's not entirely out of the question I might be able to stay a week or so.
But I need to know where I could find some cheap lodging too. Must not be the Hilton, but as long as it's within reach of public transportation, clean, and there is running water I'll manage I think! And again, not too bloody expensive.
Input on places to visit also most welcome, not just tourist stuff (I would probably spend a day or two doing stuff like that), but also some calm, laid-back cafe or similar where one might spend some time with like-minded people nursing a cup of hot cocoa or something.
I'm not really suggesting we'd meet face to face or anything (first, I don't know where any of you British peeps live, and second, it might be awkward for either or both of us). I'm not totally against the idea though, but only if any of you insist on it. I would like some advice though.
Any help most graciously accepted. Thank you in advance...
