There's some good news, and some sorta bad news (I think), and some good news again (I think).
Good news first: got response FINALLY from Dave at Nifty; my first story is now featured there. I was almost thinking it had gotten lost, but now it is there. That's cool! I lost a little more weight too by the way, which makes me joyful.
Sorta bad news is more like bizarre news... I discovered the other day that the reason my right shoe squeaked when walking was because the air bubble in the heel had been punctured. I lamented the fact to my adoptive father via my mobile phone while waiting for the bus down to the gym. I do my workout, it goes pretty well I must say. I sit in the sauna, I shower, get dressed again and go downstairs. Then I go, "wtf!"; MY SHOES ARE GONE!
Somebody feckin' STOLE MY BLOODY SHOES!
I lamented that fact too to my adoptive father, he was as disbelieving as I was. I managed to get the staff to borrow me a pair of (old, almost worn-out) trainers so I could go out and buy a new pair.
Finally, sorta-good news: my soundtrack CD I had on order finally arrived a while back, but due to lack of cash I couldn't pick it up. I did so today, and I also got the soundtrack to the first Lord of the Ring movie too. And, I bought new shoes... Italian shoes, as it happens; made by Garamont. I got a pair of winter boots from the same manufacturer, and they're Most Excellent. Not only the fit (they hardly needed any "breaking in" at all; not even a HINT of blisters that first day), but the quality and design as well. I hope these walking shoes will serve me as well as the boots have, they do fit me really well and they seem to be of as high quality too. Not too expensive either, cost me about US$100, which isn't over the top at all for a good pair of shoes over here
