It's been some time since I posted, but I have been checking in fairly regularly.

A few weeks ago I reported that Jerusalem was having its first ever Pride Parade and that some 4000 people turned up. Today (Friday) Tel-Aviv is having its Pride Parade and some 40,000 people are expected to turn up. (That's the difference between Israel's most religious city and her most secular city.)

The Tel-Aviv municipality has a department for GLBT and today, if all goes as planned, the head of that department, Ms. Michal Eden, will be registering same-sex marriages. Only those who have signed a life-committment with a lawyer will be eligible to register and while the registration will not be recognized (yet) by the State it is seen as a first step in ensuring the rights of these couples.

It's nice to be able to report "good things" from this part of the world from time to time.
