I was watching a movie last night called 'Wrestling Ernest Hemingway', a story about two extremely different elderly men, one very introverted and one a super extrovert, becoming friends and bringing out the best in each other.
In the film, the shy character always went to the same cafe and ordered the same meal from the same young waitress every day. She teased with him for a few minutes and then went on with her day. It was the high point of his day.
I was thinking alot about that today. You never know whose high point you might be. If you have a smile and a kind word for people as you go through your day, it might just be that you have been a light in their darkness.
I was running late this morning because one of the cows got loose and I didn't get to kiss my grandmom goodbye. She told me just now that her day had been 'off' without her 'happy day' kiss. I never even knew she had a name for it. Little things like that can make or break a day.
If you see that film listed, watch it. It is a small film but it has a huge lesson.
