Well, folks...it's pretty boring here tonight. Or this morning, New York time-wise.

So, what can I tell you?

Only 4 weeks and a day until I go to my partner's lovely garden for 15 days rest and holiday cheer.

After ages and ages of putting it off, I spent about US$500 on a pretty zippy exercise bike. The kind with the comfy seat. Used it for the first time tonight, so my legs are sore but I'm pretty satisfied with myself. It's in my living room, pointing toward the TV. That should help.

And I was excited to find Triscuits (American crackers...great with cheese...) in the local super-market. Haven't seen them in years, so I bought a bunch. Probably not good for the diet that should go with the new machine, but what the heck. Comfort food, right?

And last but not least, this weird and wacky news from near-by. Who knows, maybe they're terrorist-related? Or maybe exotic pets? Here it is...

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Anti-smuggling agents accustomed to unearthing hidden stashes of rice, drugs and weapons made an uncommonly creepy discovery near Malaysia's border with Thailand: hundreds of spiders, scorpions, centipedes and snakes.

Officers stopped a truck that had just crossed the border into Perlis state, 500 kilometers (310 miles) north of Kuala Lumpur, and discovered the animals concealed under a pile of boxes, district police commander Khamis Hamzah said Tuesday.

The menagerie included about 1,000 spiders, 990 lizards, 200 scorpions, 100 centipedes, 30 snakes and 20 dogs, Khamis told the national news agency, Bernama.

A 43-year-old Malaysian who was driving the truck Monday was detained, and the case had been referred to customs authorities, Khamis said. It was not immediately clear where the animals were supposed to have been delivered.
