Dearest friends - if I may be permitted to refer to you all as such? May I just take up just a moment of your time?
I am truly overwhelmed by the messages of support directed towards me as a result of the recent death of my best friend and partner, known to you all as "The Scholar".
I am equally overwhelmed by the love each of you has shown that you had for him.
TS was a kind, gentle, loving individual. He made each and every day warm and bright, even when the weather forecasters gave out an opposite prediction. His very existence was my own reason for living and I feel angry and frustrated that he is no longer with me - with us, but I hope in time to be able to celebrate his life after I have mourned his death.
Many of you knew him through his writings alone, if this is the case then let me tell you that you knew him better than you may think you did - his "Paul and Simon" stories were nearly all based on actual events - the fantasies he had in younger years and all, unknowingly at the time, directed towards me. He was Paul and I was Simon - perhaps portrayed more flatteringly than was truthful!
He was always delighted, yet surprised, to receive words of thanks, words of congratulation, words of any kind about what he referred to as his "scribblings" - knowing he had, in some small way, brought pleasure to someone gave him an enormous amount of pride and I thank you all for those words.
There are a number of "Paul and Simon" stories he had not submitted to Timmy and I shall, with permission, be submitting them myself. If they are deemed good enough for hosting, I hope you will enjoy reading them as much as TS enjoyed writing them.
This year was not one of his best - some of you may be aware of the reasons, others may not - forgive me for not elaborating at this time, suffice to say that he felt unable to do what he so much wanted to do - that was to reach out and offer support and a friendly word to those who have posted here in need of such actions and, therefore, if he didn't respond to your messages, I ask you to please forgive him - I know not doing so saddened him.
To those of you who have sent messages to the iomfats e-mail address, I will be sending a reply very soon.
Thank you for your time in allowing me these few words in response to your own kind thoughts and prayers. Someone said they believed we now had a Guardian Angel - I hope we have and that he is looking down on us now - believe me, if this is the case, he will be findin all of this totally bewildering, yet highly amusing.
