Long time no post, so this is just to confirm that you didn't miss my funeral! I've returned to work after a longish illness and seem to be spending most of my time in trains and boats and planes ... well, not so many boats, perhaps, but a hell of a lot of trains and planes!

I've kept an eye on the usual sites whenever I could, but I've usually been too shattered to post. Hopefully, things will improve over the next few weeks, and I'll find time to disagree with everybody about everything - just like old times!

Meanwhile, congratulations to Tim on maintaining his usual high standards in his recent chapters and short stories. Some awesome new gay fiction has appeared in the last six months - Driver Nine's 'Tales from the Quarry' at GWG are better than the original 'The Quarry', and his exclusive story - 'Everyday Love' - at Dabeagle's canine outhouse is a triumph: almost no sex, but every chapter leaves you feeling proud to be gay. What else have I been missing? Answers on an e-mail, please ....

Incidentally, where are all the Brit gays these days? The postings are almost all from the US of A or the land of sauerkraut and bratwurst (sorry, Simon!). I mean, there ARE gays in this wunnerful, quaint ol' country of ours - apart from Tim and I - aren't there? Well, yes, there must be; my kids have been glued to Channel 4 TV's 'Big Brother' for weeks until it ended tonight, and the winner was Brian. And he's gay. And gorgeously cute. And I hate his boyfriend Richard for being his boyfriend, 'cos in my dreams I'd like to .... well, you know what I mean.

C'mon guys. Exercise your typing finger (no, no, on the keyboard, you fool) and wave the Union Jack. Sod the National Front. Gimme cool, gay Britannia!

Hi, Dude!

I've never had the pleasure of inspecting Brian's rocks, but there's no harm in hoping .....!

Gotta say, though, that I wasn't a Josh fan - he just wasn't in Brian's league.

Anyway, I've been checking out your credentials - a bad habit of mine, as Tim will bear out. Have you read Dave's story 'A New Life' at The Glass Onion? Seems to me that you fit my mental picture of Prez better that Dave's own illustration! But, hey! - being out and proud is one thing, but choosing an e-mail address like 'another nancy boy' is quite another!

Oddly enough, when I was a gay teen (nostalgic sigh!) I never ran hot for a redhead, but since then I've begun to appreciate what I was missing! You've got a lot going for you - use your talents well, and be happy!

I wish you luck with your stories - advertise when they appear. Three friends of mine are collaborating on a set of tales with a Scottish setting, which should hit the web in mid-Autumn. This could be the start of a McGay revolution!

Anyway, PUHLEEZ keep posting! This messageboard deserves much more traffic than it seems to get. We need you - there's only one downside - you seem to come from Glasgow. Eeeeewwww! Edinburgh Rules, OK?

Hugs and big wet smooch!

McCossie.

Well - don't they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

I'll e-mail you directly when I have the time and opportunity - meanwhile, my insatiable curiosity obliges me to ask where you found the inspiration for the web name -=jalaki=- - and who the hell was Jabroni, and what was he smelling?

Keep your fate a-twistin'
