I got a smile from an article on the front page of my local newspaper today Feb. 13, 2003.
The headline reads "Some love to hate holiday of love".
The next line says "Anti-Valentine's Day celebrations are gaining fervor and popularity"

Seem some people and even cities are fighting against Valentine's Day. A few bars and taverns are having special parties for singles all decorated with black balloons and the such. They even enclosed a couple websites, so here they are.

Anti-Valentine's site: http://www.miccah.com/xiaoxin/lie.htm

Quirkyalone Day: http://todolistmagazin.com/iqd/iqd.html

Just a little info for you.

...Even despite it's my birthday (and apart from the fact I can scam my parents out of a bundle of cash, I *REALLY* hate those) and I'm alone as hell, I'm not anti them.

It's good though that people do things for those who don't have a valentine of their own, but it's not neccessary to be ANTI about it. Well, it is okay as long as it's done with a grin and a wink I suppose. Smile

I really wish I could go out on a valentine's day date with my handsome-as-hell and kinda cute stepcousin who I'll see tomorrow for only the SECOND time in like a decade. Some practical real-life issues stands in the way though, such as his GIRLFRIEND for example, and the fact he lives like 500 kilometers away from me or more...
