As you can easily see by my post, I do not want war. That would include a war of words.
I was hoping for an intelegent debate on a serious topic.
That appears impossible. I am sorry to have brought this on all of you.
No matter what the topic in the future .... PLEASE don't fight!
I wish nothing but peace and love to each of your lives.
Kevin

You simply tried to raise an issue that aroused some people's passions more than it did their intellect. Unfortunately when that happens people sometimes say the wrong things. You did not say these things nor put the words into the mouths of those who did.
We cannot become afraid to bring up a topic for discussion because we think others may act poorly. Nor can we be afraid to voice our opinions. If we do this board will become quite bland and boring. It won't be worth having. However we do need to respect the opinions of others when they are offered, especially those with whom we disagree. Debate, disagreemene, even argument can be conducted safely if we show respect towards each other.
Think good thoughts,
e

To me the topic was and remains valid. It is complex and has no correct answer, and has adherents to each side. It ought to have provoked a discussion that was wise and passionate, not heated.
What it showed was interesting. It showed how easily things get out of hand, and how entrenched views are not even discussable, let alone alterable.

Hey Kevvy, Dont worry about others who cant just air their views without stomping on the views of others ok?? Some of us DONT have to and the ones that do , well, hopefully they will sit back, think about their response and then alter their stance a lil
AND, if they dont mate and still they resort to dragging down others, you can borrow the Roos and have them state your case ok?? hehehe.. Hugs ya Kevvy for trying to impart your wisdom and maybe have a well intentioned debate.

I am glad you don't blame me even when I blame myself.
Their is very little I can do about the issue. Protest, post discussion, voice my opinion. I do not have the power to stop the killing, but I will continue to do what I can away from here.
For those who disagree, I am sorry but I fail to see how starting a war is some strange way to achieve peace. The means to peace MUST be peaceful.
Peace out,
Kevin

That is the thing, we each have a right to an opinion, well expressed. And by expressing it well we have more "clout" than anyone who yells, snipes, insults and name calls.
Frankloy I see to reason to invade Iraq. Alternatively I see North Korea genuienly HAS weapons of mass destruction, and we tend to shy away form them, because they have big boys' toys. It is not a war on terrorism. It is a war against a soft and easy target. If it were against terrorsim, proven to be so, i would support it.
It seems, instead, to be a persecution of a religion that is not always as peaceful as its scholars would wish. And that brings rleigion and politics together in the same place. Yuck.
By the way, a view in favour of invading Iraq, backed by reason and not invective, has just as much place here.
