I just wanted to address that seriously. Several of us are under 18 and could get hurt on the internet. We know that. Kids today are aware of the bad things out there.

I understand the concerns that some people are having and I know everyone worries about us. I think though, that instead of us growing safe here and then going somewhere else and expecting the same treatment, we are more likely to stay right here or go very hesitantly to another site. I know I only feel confident enough to post here.

The lurkers hopefully know that this is a good place to be and read what we say, knowing that there are other places not so good. They are welcome here and possibly will post one day.

Thank you for worrying. It shows your concern. Have faith in us and all that we learn from all our friends here in this safe place.

Yups, I compltely agree. I mean like I'm 15 and feel safe here... There is no way I'd feel safe somewhere else though. It's all about the atmosphere of the place. I'm sorry to say but soem of you gusy are makin me a little nervous now with all the arguing however.
Nonethe less I love you all... Even the silly ones like Tom and smith Smile You guys have all helped me soo much I don't think you even realize it honestly. Big thanks to Timmy who is awesome with dealing with me *hugs*
I have to say I believe this place is safe.. So I guess thats all that matters.. It feels safe here...

About the arguing - if it is unproductive or name-calling or offends others needlessly due to poor wording, or so controversial that it really CAN'T be a productive discussion, yes, that's a problem.

But, if it it an honest disagreement with people who really need, for whatever reason, to speak their mind, well, that is part of what the safety is about - the ability to be able to speak your mind without being shot to hell or flamed or called names, etc.

"Safe enough" to allow for disagreement without, as Tim FTUSA mentioned, just unthinkingly telling each other what we want to hear.

Sometimes, depending on the topic, I just choose to ignore a thread or (rarely) get disgusted and stop reading.

But, it's like reading a newspaper - not every thread will appeal to all so you seek out (or create!) the parts you like. Overall, the variety can be healthy.

I am SO glad that you ARE comfortable enough to tell us to stop bickering, Andy - that means "it" is working and your feedback may be a bit of a "mood meter." And the silliness helps keep things in perspective!

Okay, enough of my blathering already!

Ditto what Trev said!

And thanks smith and Andy for reminding me that many people your age know lots more about Internet safety than many people my age do.
