Guess what everyone.
Ok I went to steve today, anyone who talked to me this mornign knew that I was a nervous wreck. BUt After like 3 hours I chilled. He drove me to his house (40 miles away) And we got there in one piece!! HE scared the crap out of me damn boy likes to drive without having his hands on the wheels and taking exit ramps at 65 miles an hour. Scary scary stuff. So after missing a few exits.. getting on the highway going north instead of south and a few other foul ups we finally got there alright.
When I arrived I met his step dad who is way way scary. Hes a State Trooper who doesnt speka much jsut like looms over you. And he's all big and in shape and creepy. Well so his dad was surprising he has a real heavy southern accent (kinda odd for a guy whos been living in NJ for like 20 years).
So we played a few rounds of super smash brother (weird game) I never was good at Nintendo but he wnated to play so we played. Then his mom called us down for lunch. Scary My family doenst eat together like his does so we all sat down and I was still feeling sick. Just my luck lunch was grilled cheese, (dairy makes me sick on good days). So not to be rude i choked down half a sandwhich then steve and I went into the other room. His mom was appalled by how little I ate but I guess she will survive.
So I was still feeling sick so we sat down on the sofa togetehr and steve put on Harry Potter 2 for us to watch. I relaxed while we watched and he just held me and rubbed my tsomach till it felt better. He ahs two little bros (now 3 but one is a baby) and they wouldn't leave us alone so no getting off *sigh*
When Harry Potter was over we chilled and wandered around a bit then watched Lilo and Stitch. Awwwww sooo cute stupid movie always makes me cry. I actually drifted off to sleep for a bit, and woke up and he had sat up and was just holding me in his arms while talking to his brothers. It was sweet. Then he started tcikling me and his mom came in to see what all the noise was about and hsot us such dirty looks! Sigh I still dont think she is real pleased with the arrangment. I know his step dad isn't pleased. Doenst matter though at elast we got to chill together.

You guys are doing just fine. New Jersey cops ARE scary, I agree. But if he let you in the house, that's a very positive sign for at least initial acceptance from his family.
That makes you a lucky couple...there are people here on the MB who would think they'd died and gone to heaven to have that kind of basic openness.
I also know what you mean about being more open making you more nervous! Don't let anybody push you into coming more "out of the closet" than you're comfortable with. The journey out of the closet is entirely your choice about timing, one step at a time.
Baby steps are sometimes best. And visiting your boyfriend's family for the first time is no baby step, believe you me!
So when do you two get together again?

A bit scary, but good.
I wish I'd been taken to a prom by a gorgeous boy.
Only the prom concept is one we don't have here, and in 1970, well it would not have been a boy that took me

Sounds like things are going well for the two of you. Little brothers can be a real pain, but in this case they probably kept you out of trouble. hehe
Think good thoughts,
