Now lets be clear about this......

The movies do not have to necessarily be about gay issues or being gay. Some movies have very subtle innuendo reguarding the gay scene and they go back to the very begining of film making.

What I am looking for is a listing of movies that are fun, informative and entertaining.

Movies that make us feel good. Please no hack and slash.

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
I'll give you more from my list on the week-end....  [message #10721 is a reply to message #10710] Thu, 29 May 2003 00:24 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Zorro the Gay Blade, 1981, George Hamilton plays Zorro's gay brother...costumes right out of Liberace. Loved it!

World According to Garp, with that wonderful cross-dressing co-star.

The Wizard of Lonliness, with Lucas Haas as a youngster...not gay, as you said, but tugs the heart-strings.

The Winslow Boy, British. Was the boy guilty or not?

Victor/Victoria, Julie Andrews playing a transvestite man. Wonderful!

Torch Song Trilogy...Harvey Fierstein and Matthew Broderick in love

Total Eclipse. DiCaprio playing the tortured poet Rimbaud, true story, nude scene for the fans.

Tootsie. Dustin Hoffman as an out of work actor who decides to be a working actress. Cool flick.

THe Times of Harvey Milk. One of the best documentaries ever made about this piece of gay history.

The Truth About Alex.

Tidy Endings...another Harvey Feirstein play, co-starring the President's wife from West Wing With the pointy nose, very sad but good film about the early AIDS days.

That Certin Summer, Hal Holbrook coming out ads a gay Dad. This one is sooo old that the young hunk boyfriend is now the President on The West Wing!

The Thief of Baghdad (Sabu, 1940)...not gay, but hey, you asked for favorites!

To Wong Fu, with love Julie Newmar. Patrick Swayze in drag in the mid-west. Same pointy nosed woman co-star...what IS that woman's name? I love her work...

Toy Soldiers...boy's military academy taken over by terrorists...watch out for the undies scenes...

Sirga...an African boy and his lion

Pretty in Pink

Sixteen Candles

Summer of 42...haunting. Sequal (Summer of 44) isn't bad either

Seven Minutes in Heaven...teen flick with a big heart

Stand By Me...nuf said about that one already. Just the song is amazing.

The Rose...Bette Midler in a tribute to Janis Joplin, my teen fav musician.

Lust in the Dust...plus anything else with "Divine", of course.

Revolution, with Al Pacino and son trying to survive the revolutionary war.

The Patriot, another movie about the same war...Mel Gibson and hunk sons...tear jerker.

Red Dawn...improbable but interesting with the High School kids in Colorado fighting the Cuban invasion. Patrick Swayze again.

Real genius

Robin Hood, Men in Tights

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Running On Empty, River Phoenix.

Rustler's Rhapsody. Hilarious western.

Rapa Nui. Love the lack of costumes in this film about Easter Islanders...

Powder...albino teen who commands the lightning. Another sad one.

Peter's Friends

Nuff for now, I hope?

"Always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them quite so much." Oscar Wilde
