Yup, folks...one more day has gone by, thank God...
I konw we shouldn't wish time to fly, because then we'll be out of time, so to speak...but I can't help it. After I get to Thailand, maybe I'll start wishing for time to stop...would that balance out the last little while, I wonder?
Anyhow...19 days to go until Thailand forever.
Which means only 12 work days left, altho today will be murderous...13 hours...yuck.
Andy? Number of school days?
And smith...when is/was graduation, anyhow? I lost track...sorry about that!

Yesterday was a good day. The Finance Committee made good decisions about who will be the Boss after I go...and 2 of my senior people (and good friends, btw) will become Co-Directors.
That's sooo cool, I am waaay happy about that. And relieved.
And tonight is the first (and biggest) of the going away parties for me. It's a Bar-B-Q outside by the pool and tennis courts of one of my best friends' apartment complex. If it rains, no problem, we can be inside a huge posh apartment and enjoy the air conditioning. I'm almost wishing for rain!

I realize this is stating the obvious, but I'm sure it would have been even better if Man were there to share it with you.
He will be, even sooner than you think!

Ah, the last day of school: aside from Christmas, always the best day of the year (for students and teachers alike)!
I hope you (and all others facing them) ace all those exams!

So this week was really long and difficult at work...I always thought that the last few weeks of a job should be kind of nice, just getting ready, sorting files, helping out the peeps who will be taking over after you're gone...
But nope, it's just all continuing to happen, all current stuff, I mean. So busy that I haven't had time to work on any "hand-over" files...I guess if it continues, they'll just have to call me or email questions or something...*sighs*
And yesterday I got my first visa for Thailand...I tried for a one year, which would have been a miracle as they are rarely given out initially like that, but I had hoped anyhow...
So they gave me the more usual 90 day visa at the Consulate...and when I looked at it, it is dated 90 days from YESTERDAY...not from July 1st...which means I have to do something about the next step of the visa process before Sept. 12...*another sigh*.
On the other hand, the good news is that I am eligible for a retirement visa if I want one. How weird is that? I mean, you only feel as old as you feel, right? I usually don't "feel" 51, but that's what my birth certificate says, and the regulation is that anybody older than 50 can apply for a retirement visa by proving an income coming from outside the country, which I can do, no problem...
So I wrote to Man this morning saying I'd officially be a retired person...very weird, indeed...
But it's all good, right?
Hehehehe
