FOR OUR WORLD
We need to stop, just stop
Stop for a moment
Before anybody says or does anything
That may hurt anyone else
We need to be silent, just silent
Silent for a moment
Before we forever lose the blessings of songs
That grow in our hearts
We need to notice, just notice
Notice for a moment
Before the future slips away
Into ashes and dust of humility
Stop, be silent, and notice
In so many ways we are the same
Our differences are unique treasures
We have, we are, a mosaic of gifts
To nuture, to offer, to accept
We need to be, just be
Be for a moment
Kind and gentle, innocent and trusting
Like children and lambs
Never judging or vengeful
Like the judging and the vengeful
And now let us pray
Differently, yet together
Before there is no Earth, no life
No chance for peace
Peace for our world...our world

I think I read that some where once before. It sounds familiar and I still like it. It is just so true. If people did all that stuff the world would be so much more peaceful. Ahhhh dreams
Peace and Trees

Thanks, M .... you find the greatest poems. This one goes on the wall
I really love this one, this part especially:
"We need to be, just be
Be for a moment.
Kind and gentle,innocent and trusting........"
That's so really true. Just stand very still and be. Be what you are, be proud of it.
kind...gentle...innocent...trusting...that gets harder every day.
My innocence about what to expect from people is long gone and trust is hard to come by. The poem makes me want to try to find them again.

Just in case you still want to know by who it is , it was written by Mattie Stepanek ( 11 years old, with some weird muscular disease).
Even better it is put to music by Billy Gilman(Country signer, 15, now really cute). You just need to hear the way this kid puts this poems into music, it's amazing.

True smith, as we grow older all those things kind of slip away. We tend not to be gentle, kind, innocent, and specially trusting. I guess it is because we start to see more unpleasent things this world has to offer. We are not little boys anymore in which our parents are our heros and everybody is like them, we see the world as a perfect place. I wish i could be like that again.

Me, too. I like it and it sounds familiar. Maybe I saw it on Ashley's web site - he is a Billy Gilman fan. I must find some MP3's of him.

We can't be like that again because the world won't let us but we can try to make the little bit of world we occupy better... for us and for the people we love.
I know I sound too sweet sometimes but if I spiral down, I have a really hard time being happy again, so you keep smiling too.....It really helps
