In today's news here in south Texas there was a piece about a marriage between a woman and a man. The woman is in prison for life for urging her boyfriend to kill his ex-girlfriend (he did and he is in prison for life also). She applied for and received a marriage license to marry the man of her dreams (no, not the boyfriend but another man also doing life in prison) whom she has never met face to face. Today a judge married them by proxy.

The Texas legislature just passed a law stating that civil unions between same sex couples cannot be recognized as valid in the state of Texas. Marriage (or civil union) of same sex couples has been illegal here in Texas for years.

I am perplexed.

Hugs, Charlie

Me, too!

I saw this story on the news just after reading this post.

What caught my attention was how the woman now wants a divorce.

And str8s say that gays are incapable of commitment!

I find it a sad irony that if gays were given the same rights as straights, they WOULD be creating more families. I guess that actually makes the bigots anti-family.

Really, if anyone - straight or not - does not WANT to form a family, do we really want them to do so?

If these opinionated bigots only knew that in about 22% of all >straight< marrages, the guys are gay. Most are actively gay at some point. The figure is about 15% for the females.Bottom line,in a community of say 50,000 at least some 11,000 husbands have some kind of gay fling going on at one time or other.Of course these figures vary a lot,but according to the Atlanta CDC the average is about 15% For supposedly hetro guys involved in a marrage have at some time a gay fling(now I wonder what the% for southern baptist is)..I belong to a dating service for all people. My profile has been hit on 1742 times and I have no photo posted.I list my age as 26.----about 1400 hits have come from hetros looking to have FUN with a young guy. Most of the hetro hits were from men masculine and about 20 to 49 years. Go figure....rob(time frame about 14 months)

Look at this tree. I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time [...] No matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.
