I think this is the show that smith was talking about a while back. it is on Bravo channel and is called Queer Eye For The Stright Guy. Here is the description as found on the Bravo website, bravotv.com.

"They are the Fab 5: an elite team of gay men who have dedicated their lives to extolling the simple virtues of style, taste and class.

Each week their mission is to transform a style-deficient and culture-deprived straight man from drab to fab in each of their respective categories: fashion, food and wine, interior design, grooming and culture.

It's a full lifestyle make-over — a make better show where straight guys turn in their pleats for flat fronts, learn about wines that don’t come in a jug and come to understand why hand soap is not a good shampoo (and vice versa).

When the journey is done, a freshly scrubbed, newly enlightened ultra hip man emerges, complete with that "new man" smell."

Could be interesting.

Think good thoughts,

Look at this tree. I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time [...] No matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.

I have real trouble with these new stereotypes that seem to be shaping around gay men, previously we were sissy and fem and camp and stuff like that, but now we're supposed to be hip and cool and dress well and have class and go out clubbing at all the right places and look good and be perfect and have style and AAAIIIEEEEGGGHHHH!!!

I don't have ANY of that and it friggin bothers the hell out of me! I feel totally inadequate! Sad

I don't have any of those qualities either. In fact I could probably pass for one of the straight guys they're supposed to be "helping."

The show does seem to be about stereotypes, but it could also be about breaking them. I think the good part is that a station is actually willing to put gay men on TV and be straightforward about it, if you'll forgive the pun.

Think good thoughts,

id be willing to bet any amount of money that this will end up as another gay putdown..now what would gather everybodies attention would be for a contestant on say Jepordy or wheel of fortune to mention that they were gay....rob
