We ALL have worked very hard to form friendships on this board and it would be a good bet that lives were influenced in a positive way. Please explain how someone would throw all that away.I would believe that friendship is the most precious thing ever and to throw away that resource would be a terrable waste. This board is a resource.Composed of many diverse personalities, tastes and beliefs. Why not draw strength from that?-Here we are, some seperated by thousands of miles of cyber-space.The common thread--Friendship....Differences of opinion and minor clashes can be worked out off board...rob

Thankyou, Rob, I have nothing else to add but my own agreement with it.

Look at this tree. I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time [...] No matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.

especially the last sentence about differences of opinion and minor clashes can be worked out off the MB. Please try to keep this MB a place where we can all come and feel free to say what we need to to be happy. A problem, no matter how small, can be tremendous to the person who's having it. We need to listen, never make light and always try to help.

although this is the first time I have posted a message. I am impressed by the warmth, friendship and helpful support given here. (even though I have been lurking I too have benefited from the advice and friendship offered here. But I have also seen that people become easily offended and leave the board when they really do benefit from the 'virtual family'. I have a suggestion. Why not ask the board owner to appoint someone he trusts to act as a kind of ombudsman or referee. This person, who would always remain anonymous, would be an address two whom people could take their grievances and then he (or she) could try to patch things up offline. I believe that my suggestion is worth consideration - too many people have left us in a huff, probably unnecessarily.

The question that arises is "how might such a person be selected?"

Otherwise I am warm to the idea, if it meets people's needs. ANY idea that brings folk together instead of letting them feel lost is good. I am content to submit any irreconcilable disputes I may have in this manner, if the bona fides of the person are good

I didn't realize that I needed to say your name and refer your quote to you. I assumed you'd know I was referring to your words because I had read through your post and Saben's reply. Sometimes where the reply ends up is not directly under the person it is directed to.

Right? Correct me if I'm getting confused in my Dotage...hehe

Hiya Ian, welcome, and I like your idea a lot about the behind the scenes referee as needed.

Glad you posted. Hope you come back again soon Smile It's always cool to see what quiet people have to say (me not being one of them, I guess)

Yep, Ien is a pretty lady.
