The first day of summer vacation! The best day of the year (even giving Christmas some competition)!

How I wish there were some way I could make myself a stowaway on that trip. The only time I was ever in Europe (or, outside North America, for that matter) was a trip to Italy about 20 years ago (and since I threw several coins into the Trevi Fountain, I feel I am more than overdue for a return visit!). I'm sure we'll all be looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back (and will miss you until then).

Bon voyage!!!

And you mean to say that I'll be in Thailand before you're in Europe? Cool!

Maybe I'll have to join you in a continued count-down?

You're going to get through high school in flying colours.

You'd better have internet access in Europe though, otherwise we're all gonna miss you sooo bad.

Already talked to you about your brother's diploma, but it's still enough to make me giggle. Anyway, have fun and partay like it's 2000!

Look at this tree. I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time [...] No matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.

I had gone by my middle name all my life. Many of my closest friends didn't even know my first name. I hadn't even had a teacher who used my first name since Jr. High. So what name did they print on my diploma and what name did the principal (whom I had know since second grade) call out during the ceremony? It wasn't my middle name.

I think that even my parents were wondering who the kid was walking up there to get his diploma that had the same last name as me.

Think good thoughts,
e

Congratulations on becoming a Junior. But don't get into too big a hurry to be all grown up and on your own. You'll have the rest of your life to live the rest of your life. You can only be a Junior and then a Senior once.

Reading your posts is always such fun, you still have that youthful outlook on everything that I miss so much in myself (having turned into quite the cynic in later years, blech! Smile).

I think about you and smile. The best of luck to you, hope you have a great summer, dude! Smile

Take care.
