hey everyone,
Anyone who has spoken to me in the last few days knows that I have been obsessing over the fact that I needed some rubber chickens. This morning I called Ann-dys Magic Store and asked the guy about rubber chickens and he said he had tons! I was so happy and immediatly said I would be rigth over. I called Brenda we grabbed our bikes and off we went. When I got there I walked in and was like yeah I called this mornign about soem rubber chickens you said you had some. The owner said yeah they are right over there and pointed me at a whole display of rubber chickens I was thrilled. He asked which size I wnated large or small and I was like no no you missunderstand I need multiple rubber chickens.
The guys just looked at me and was like do you realize how much those cost. yes yes I do. Well I have about 200 rubber chickens in the store room so I will give you a break on the price. I was ecstatic and immediatly bought 6 small and 1 large rubber chicken from him. Now heres the reason why I needed one.
Steves Boy scout troop has this feelign that rubber chickens protect moving objects. The jeep they take to camp always breaks down and one time one of the guys as a joke tossed Steve (my bf) a rubber chicken and instructed him to go fix the jeep. Him thinking wtf I'll just make an ass out of myself went in front of the jeep stood over and procedded to wave the rubber chicken over where the engine was. Then his dad tried to start the jeep again and miraciously it worked! since then the Rubber Chicken has become a perminant fixture in both the jeep and Steves Saturn.
Since I will be flying and hikign through europe I thouhgt that both the plane and my backpack could use some protecting. That is what my desperite search for the chicken was about.
Peace and Love and Trees you guys
~Andy

Dude, you are just too cool. Steve's a really lucky guy to have you for a b/f, hehe. Anyway, it's wise you take precautions and all, but I sincerely hope you don't need to use the power of the rubber chickens (although it would be kinda neat I suppose if you could like re-start the airplane's engines just before you all crash, and make 500 or so people indebted to you for the rest of their lives ).
Best of luck, hope you have the most amazingly great flight and hike ever, and may you see many a tree you like. (There are just completely AMAZING birches growing in northern Sweden, their bark is absolutely fantastic, silvery and so smooth.)
Sincerely:

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

I love it!!!
It makes one believe in serendipity: that a novelty store named "Ann-dys" would even exist near where "Andy" lives, never mind having exactly what he was desperately looking for (and in more than sufficient quantities).
And there's no denying the power of the rubber chicken, either (or of Steve's abilities at channeling all that awesome power)!
That's such a terrific gesture on your part, Andy, wanting to supply your fellow travellers with such an essential survival tool! May they provide all the protection necessary to make your journey a fun, memorable, and (above all) a safe one!!!

P.S.: You're right, Lenny, there is something uniquely special about those birch trees. They are found scattered throughout the forests here in New England (the Northwest corner of the United States); that's why I asked "Tree Master Andy" to send me one. [ ]
P.P.S.: For those of you who object to "fluff", I'd just like to say that, up until now, today has been "one of those days" for me; but then I came here and saw this thread, and it made me smile. Thanks, Andy!!!
